I'm hoping this is something that will be revealed soon. I have been pondering this question as well. From the looks of things so far, doesn't look to me like any alternates are in place. But for variety sake, I can only pray that there are. Because playing with these characters in the same costume over and over and over again is going to get boring fast. Yeah I know what some of you are gonna say.

"You couldn't change costumes in MK 2 & 3, why you complaining about it now?"

Well frankly this isn't the sega genesis we're talking about here. this is next gen stuff, and not having the option of choosing different costumes for your fighter is taking a step back in my opinion. If they want gamers to keep playing the game long after they've beat story mode, they will add in those touches. it may seem frivolous to some, but its those little things that make or break a game.

He also said yes to customization strangely.

Clearly he misinterpreted what the question was.

I get the feeling there will be more than two alternate oufits from his response.

Alternate outfits have become pretty much a requirement in 3D fighting games nowadays. I mean,you have to give the players the incentive to keep playing after they've beaten the game,right? It's basic replay value,people.
Rest assured,the alts will be in.

I hope there's alts. But I also hope for customization, which adds even more replay value.
