After watching the new trailers I'm not too sure if Deception's acutal gameplay will be all that different. Yes, I love the new death traps, interactive stages, fatalities, looks etc.. But how much more fun or different will the gameplay be than Deadly Alliance? I just hope they haven't just painted over DA's gameplay with more eye candy in the way of looks and gore, (Didn't the screams sound similar to DA??) It may be too early to tell, the release is set for October, but I hope they change and make MKD better before then.

Your Thoughts...

yep, the majority of fans complained about the lack of fatalities so thats what we have got, if no1 sez the gameplay needs improvin (which it doesn't neway) no1 is gonna do nethin about it

actually, the gameplay DOES need alot of fixing up, but you're right when the majority of the fans complained about the lack of fatalities. Just goes to show how shallow people are.
yes i think it will.. with the Mini-Games and Interactive Stages!

It looks a bit faster to me which is a good thing, but I wouldn't want too much change, I'm happy with how it looks so far.

i would like all characters 2 have separate fighting styles the weapon problem was MK:DA's version of pallete swapin but with weapons.

Having sed that i think enough has bin done 2 deception 2 keep me satisfied but i'll only think of Mortal Kombat in the same group as Tekken and Soul Calibur when somethin is done 2 get rid of the move-set repetitiveness, u neva no deception might just b the game that allows me 2 think like that grin here's hoping

I agree with krsx. The game looks a little faster but pretty much exactly the same gameplay. I just hope that each character has A LOT more combos for each individual fighting style or Deception will get old really quick after seeing all of the fatalities.

just looking at the mkd environments you would have to say the gameplay would be better
with mkda it wasnt very easy to smash your opponent into things, the ice spikes etc i didnt find it that easy anyway and if mkd is going to have interactive environments and plenty of things to smash your opponent into to find items and weapons they would have to make the gameplay better if they left it how it was dealing with the environments would be a bit frustrating

The fighting engine seem to be the same, and that's fine by me. Setting that up was what MKDA was all about, and it's a great engine. But it seems that Deception is all about rectifying most if not everything that was wrong with MKDA.

1. More Fatalities
2. Fatalities don't seem to suck this time
3. Stage Fatalities (basically ring outs)
4. Hari Kiri finishers
5. Multi-Level Interactive Environments
6. Damaged clothing
7. Fan favorite characters
8. Online
9. Weapon pick-ups
10. "Kreate a Kharakter"

So all those things make up the gameplay, which is undoubtably, unquestionably better then MKDA. No one can argue that. But if you mean the fighting engine, then that stays the same.

Wasn't terrible, it was just slow. With the speed-up it looks to be a lot better.

eh? the fighting engine in mk:da was terriblleee... the fighters didnt even feel alive or flexible...the 3 styles thing was..a good IDEA but they made each fighter have a few moves for each... n like wat 3-5 comobos?!!..heh... there r sum fighting games out there that have fighters who have more moves then 5 fighters combined in mk:Da and wit just usin 1 style..i alomst cryied playin it for the first time the engine SUCKED..it seems like mk:d will just be a bloody mess....sigh... just hope that they use the time they have left to fix up the FIGHTING ENGINE

Well, hopefully they give characters many more combos. We already know that each character will have about 5 or 6 speacial moves, and thats a great improvement. I liked the DA system, but it just needed some more depth to it. Hopefully it was tweaked enough to make it much more enjoyable.
