I dont think there should be that much i think there should be atleast 27 like 7 new 13 classic and the rest from deadly alliance and Id be surprised to see SHEEVA stryker or rain (hopefully) in the game not my faaavorites but they r people id like to c bak in action

i don't think it should be like trilogy. there was around fourty different characters in that game with very little story behind them.
trilogy was just a collaboration of all of the mortal kombat characters in one game before mortal kombat went 3-d.
i hope that there are alot of characters in deception so that all of the fans are happy with what they get from the game.
