One button TS.
One button Sareena knives
Or do you think lag excuses the need to utilize programmable controllers?

Arcade, go burry yourself.
Gameshark and a programmable are two different animals.
You dont gain anything really outside of a bit more accuracy with execution.
Doesnt help with overall timing especially online. Calm down.

I second Jay's statement, both parts

So that's hit name Jay huh? I think I'll go "check on Jay" lol ok horrible joke lol.
Sorry man, I'll refer to you as check it's not polite to address people by their names unless they feel comfortable with it.
But umm yeah on this topic, I think programmable controllers are lame personally, no better then KAK anything to give an edge is lame IMO.
Just being honest.

How many times do I have to say this ?
1 button TS drops, you fools.
It would have been worse in MKD especially.... you could buffer SS TS Drops all day with that type of shit, and no skill required.
In MKA.... same applies to Dairou except he's much slower, but also Sarrena with 1 button dag throws.
It gives advantage. Not rocket science to figure that out.

dairou ts-drops with a programmable in MKD would have been really cheap.

Well, I'll add to the 'not legit' tally. My only question is would a move that takes roughly a second to perform, say Dairou's TS Drop... come off a half a second faster if it was programmed? Normally, you're anticipating someone to use it and might have an idea that it's coming. But people tend to make mistakes and hit the wrong button at crucial times during a match and the opponent would take advantage if they are able to; happens to everyone. But having a button cover your ass instead of actively performing the moves themselves kind of takes away from the skill component of playing this... wonderfully put together game. [/sarcasm] It seems as if you'd be ensuring that your move comes out without putting the effort into actually doing it.. Now, I'm not sure if there is an advantage in using it, but with this game being as it is based on the server and the varying connections that people have, it's logical to assert that it may aid someone thanks to lag. It's enough that lag gives some people an advantage but adding programmed moves? Ehhh... who would to be that one unlucky bastard that would have to deal with it. That is if it indeed gives an advantage.

I wouldn't go as far to lump them together, though they seriously need to take more punitive action against those people in the future. Has anyone seen a noticeable variance in gameplay where someone used a programmable controller? Maybe movies should be made to see what's going on during matches w/ people of varying connections.

good question, would the move come out faster?
0
The moves dont come out faster.
Each move has recovery frames from preventing you to do anything afterwards. Keep in mind that whatever you program you can also do manually the exact same way.
Lag outweighs anything I can program.
Does lag help you perform moves manually??? No. It hinders you. Just like it hinders the programmed attacks. It screws with the timing.

There are probably more people using it online than willing to admit.
Nice input Ghost. Do you MKA?

Okay, fine.
But with a number of moves, there are subtle telegraphing movements or 'tells' ( to use a poker analogy) that the character gives when they perform them that players pick up on and analyze to determine the most beneficial course of action to take. Picking on Dairou's TS Drop once again; in the open space when both players are grounded (not counting for just before you land after jumping, since it will be masked anyway) if I notice a TS Drop 'tell' then I'm preparing for it to come. If that TS Drop 'tell' is masked by it being programmed and used in open space, I'd be SOL. Granted even in open space it can be masked even when doing the motions at certain times, but if a button can negate that 'tell' by simply circling around (not SS'ing) an opponent or around the arena, then I am at a disadvantage, I think. If it can come off while holding down and Dairou's moving around the arena and you hit a button, the 'tell' is negated.
I'd probably be thinking, "Okay, there are no TSD 'tells' and they're coming out even when he's circling the arena. So, since he's found an instance where he can use them and I can't effectively anticipate when they'll be used, I'm essentially dancing to his beat the entire way here. Cause I'm basically a half second behind on anticipating when and where it may come from due to him finding a new way to perform it more effectively."

Yeah, but I'm raging mostly. I'm tired of people using their broken KAKs. I just play my friends and JADEOWN & Dan from MKO cause we go back to MKD.
Ghostdragon
Actually... Dairou's TS drops can be made to come out faster.
Either do this:
Parry cancel into a TS Drop
TS Drop, and in the process, mash 11111111
If someone was to program a speed drop into the controller, shit would get ugly. Dairou is easily top tier with his shit already. Just think what would happen if you had this.

Ghost Dragon - You're right to an extent.
Boraichos puke puddle is a great example....I can be moving towards you....let go of the d-pad and quickly press the programmed button...
I would show be little movement in the opposite direction prior to the special. Whereas normally, you would expect me to tap block or stop moving or maybe take a step back first.....A total of maybe 2-3 frames?
Offline, it is possible that the programmed moves can make it more difficult to react to your opponent tells....... HOWEVER......
ONLINE, the lag already masks these same tells at a more difficult rate....in fact they arent even where you think they are anyway. In order to be competitive you have to anticipate what your opponents next attack will be.
Arcade - I was unaware of speeding up the TS drop. I no about delaying it....same as deception. I'll fool around with it because I dont doubt it.
Im sure I wouldnt need to rapidly press 1,1,1,1. I just have to find the trigger frames. Its usually delayed 3-5 frames after the first command and only requires you to press the button once. Like Jump Kick Cancels offline.
