Do you think theyll change the way Klose Kombat looks?

Two questions (for anyone who's watched more gameplay footage than I have):
a) Is that a throw in the traditional sense wherein you throw your opponent, they just hit the ground, and it does damage? Or is it a positional "throw" (ie; it doesn't intrinsically do any damage in and of itself but it hurls the opponent in a certain direction for the purpose of something like putting your opponents back towards the wall, or literally throwing the opponent into the wall and hitting the wall being the cause of any sustained damage)?
b) Does everybody have that same throw? I read somebody mention something along those lines.

Yeah that's a throw escape, and there are normal throws as well besides kk, by pressing two buttons together.

Everyone has the same throw but, I've seen some differences.
Here at 1:04 superman lands on his back receiving damage.
And here at 0:42 superman lands on his feet.
Could this be another throw escape animation? i can't tell if superman lost any health in the second video.
Thanks for the heads up guys.
It looks to me as Superman doesn't take any damage when he lands on his feet but I'm not sure about that at all.
It makes more sense to me now though. The generic toss appears to be for throwing people through walls and whatnot to initiate the test your might type shit, but also works as a conventional throw if no interactive areas are made contact with. By the looks of things to me anyway.
But I still can't understand why I'd want to initiate klose kombat potentially for nothing when I could just throw somebody. Although, I guess now that we have throw escapes, throws are really no more guaranteed than getting a hit in during klose kombat; both are escapable. The only way I can really see a point to this is if, say, getting multiple clean hits in during klose kombat is more damaging than the regular throw, but klose kombat is more easily escaped than the throw because the button presses for klose kombat are more telegraphed than the throw startup is. While the throw is more difficult to escape because the startup is less telegraphed, but the tradeoff is that it potentially doesn't do as much damage. I have no idea if that's how it works or not but that's the only way I could see it making sense really.
Then, still, at high level, whatever is less easily telegraphed is probably going to be almost completely relied on.
I dunno.
