Does anybody here not block?

I also dont block when playing fighting games (Mk mainly).
In MKDA I rarely block, but trust me, its useful once in a while.
Now, in MKD, this has to be the FIRST fighting game I have learned to block so much!!! Trust me, MKD gameplay system is somewhat different then the one of MKDA.
The time recovery is so slow. I need to block to save half of my life bar.
I need the block button when playing MKD.

No, really bro. I rarely block in fighting games.
I do block sometimes in MKDA, its useful, but in MKD is a must.
Like I said, MKD is the only fighting game I block so much in. I dont have online yet.
I tend to block only projectiles and counter with one of my own. In Mortal Kombat Deception I usually use my combo breakers when a character is landing a punch or kick on me.
Queve is right, blocking is a must in Mortal Kombat Deception. Especially against opponents like Noob-Smoke.

I hardly ever block, I cant tell when people are going to attack. Also I sometimes forget or cant be bothered. I try but i'm just not getting it. And I'v still won a ton of fights..

i hate blocking, i hope in mk7 there's a gameplay option to turn blocking off!
i never block, never have, never will, in mk:d i never block, since it is useless, i get hit sometimes, but i usually get my ass out of the fire, but alot fo the times i get flawless victorys for not blocking.

i like to block a lot in fighting games. blocking then offers you the chance to get a free hit on the opponent depending on the attack they use. i use to not block at all or very little but then i have started to learn the importance of it. if you can learn to block very well then your fights will probably become easier.

This is the only game I have really blocked in lol. In games like Street Fighter and Tekken and SOul Calibur I never block only when I really need it. Heck, I never even knew that button existed lol. J/K

I also belong on the no-block list! In every MK before DA, and all other fighting games, I rarely used block. BUT in MKDA and even more so in MKD u have to block or you will die quickly online. The only way you wouldn't is if you are an expert with someone fast like Liu Kang, but still, rarely using the blk button is gonna get you into trouble online...

I block when I can but like others have said the recovery time after attacking is very slow. It is tough to block before you are attacked yourself.
I'd say I circle my opponent more than block. I try to mix and go in either direction but majority probably clockwise so I can easilly use all the up + attack moves.

I put aside what my win/loss record was for this and many other online games for the reason I would like to get better. When it comes to blocking I try to time my blocks as people attack. I just can't get used to sitting and blocking waiting for an opening, I'm not that disciplined. LOL. But in any case when you don't block at all you take a ton of abuse which leads to frustration. Frustration turns to breaker use to gain a moment of control. The use of the breaker in place of a block leads to very difficult round 2s and if you make it round 3s.

I either forget to block half the time, or blocking just ends up becoming useless (70% of the time when I block a projectile it hits me anyway). I dunno, blocking is necessary in this game but I usually go on the offensive

In the oldschool MK games, I NEVER EVER blocked. Why? Because it usually was more detrimental to winning than actually useful, especially in MK1 and 3. Block and the cpu character would usually just come over and sweep you or worse, throw you. The throwing was the move that always made blocking such a pain in the ass.
Because of that, i've never become to accustomed to using it after that. However after playing my girlfriend on MKDA so much, and she always uses Kano and just performs one low-knife swipe all the time, I began to use it more. However when it came against the cpu, well I gave up on the game with still Drahmin, Nitara and Reptile left to unlock... the Conquest mode just pissed me the hell off, the dial-a-kombos that just wouldn't respond no matter how many times I tried them. So I ain't played it in quite a while.
I'm in the UK, so I'm still waiting for Deception... I'll see how much I use blocking when I actually get to play it.

I wasn't much of a blocker come MK:DA. I grew up pressing Back to block. Using the Index finger to do it is just.... Bleh. Too many fighting games in my system that utilized the thumb XD
Ain't got a problem with side-stepping though ;)

I mostly don't block except for Street Fighter, and for Deception I use the Breaker, but when it doesn't kick in, I guess I block.
I don't see what everybody's problem with Noob-Smoke is. They were only confusing the first couple of times I fought them. The popping up randomly, and "dropping in" was confusing at first. Now, they're easy as hell.

first of all for you people who say u dont block probably still play mk:d on the easy setting. cuz i know for a fact you cant even beat max difficulity past like the 3rd person without blocking unless they are flawless victories, and even then u can still block as long as u arent blocking a weapon attack cuz then youll take dmg. ive noticed i have started blocking alot less since i mastered the side step(the biggest pain in the game besides the long pauses between moves). I still HAVE to block tho.

To block, or not to block... that is the question. However, I wish they'd put a blocking ability in Konquest mode.... it kinda sukks when you smack a guard, they block then smack you right back... I mean... c'mon shujinko... learn to block!
