Downloadable Content for European Edition on and American PS3
This is a nagging question with me. Does it seem logical? A lot of us who have gone the European route have done so because of needing the extra blood, but will that screw us in the future for having downloadable content being uploaded on a PS3 that is not native??
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, you are screwed. The content download servers are regional for this game. In your decision to obtain the PAL version for the extra 2 seconds of gore, you have now cheated yourself out of any future updates for the game. If you want the updates, you will have to somehow set yourself up with a PAL PSN account. Honestly, there were only two censored fatalities. I have no idea why this was so important to a lot of people. Good luck man.
Peace
I am currently playing the USA version, and the Euro one is on the way. And yes if it is unopened I can get my money back.
Now back to the original question. Can a USA PS3 not use the Euro PSN account at all? So what if I got to get a sign in...my question is it possible since the USA one is free? Is the same true for Europe?
Also what fatalities are censored. I have seen the jokers since I have done it, but I don't see alot different with the Baraka version???
yeah I do like my extra 2 seconds, but not over downloadable content IF it isn't possible.
Getting a new account isn't a big deal unless it kills my old one. I am just trying to understand.

You can just create a European PSN account - it's easily done as I'm from England and have both an european and american PSN accounts :)

It's more like zero seconds, dude. The fatalities are exactly the same, just different camera angles. In my opinion, it's not really worth the money importing.

I dont really see there being much problem with PAL downloadable content.
We got the Soul Calibur 4 downloadable content, albeit a bit later than the NTSC users did.
I think they'll have to make the DLC compatible with both version anyway, especially since the XBox online version has a single server.

What I don't get is why it is such a problem for some that many of MK players refuse to support the blatant censorship and quite rightfully are looking elsewhere.
It is plain ignorance that the Europeans get a better cut of something that is made in America!!
So what do you say..."what is the big deal..it is ONLY a couple of seconds". Well it may not be a big deal to you, but being an avid MK fan since the day the first machine was in my local Pizza Hut, I HATE it being torn apart in any way shape or form.
What really gauls me is how the first person that answered makes it sound like it is some kind of impossible feat when it is actually as easy as flipping on a second User and simply registering a new region. WHOOOAAAA now that was really hard!
If you don't know, then don't bother replying. Your unfounded answers could cost some people some money. I ALMOST cancelled my order from Europe. Thank goodness the guy didn't heed my first email that told him not to send.
For the record..the best of both worlds is to buy the USA special edition, get the cool stuff, then turn around and sell it and get the European edition while the dollar has fallen. If you really think about it, it is no more worse then paying an extra 10 bucks for great extra content! One last question, as long as my friend has a European edition, then online play should be sweet as well right?

In my original post, I stated that you must somehow create a PAL account. You were able to do just that so that's great! From what I read on another site, the US downloads were not compatible with the PAL downloads, that's why I responded the way I did. I was not trying to deter you from making your purchase. It's your money, spend it however you wish.
I am still puzzled by the need to import the game just for a couple of fatalities. The only fatalities that got censored were Death Stroke's and the Joker's. The rest are intact. I just watched the two uncensored fatailites on Youtube, and I was satisfied
Fatalities are fine, I just don't care to pull them off all that often, which is probably the reason why I did not see your point. No harm, no foul man.
Enjoy the game, it's really fun to play online.
Peace
Oh god here we go again, another SF fanboy.
Look man, I have heard how MK doesn't take skill till my ear is bleeding. From the very first game, you either get it or you don't.
I don't have time to type 20 pages of how a newbie would understand. But the very fact that you think it takes THIS game to get skill completely explains to me why you made such a statement as "why does a few seconds matter".
I guess that perhaps why you sit on the floor playing your cosole and why I would be jacking you up on my stand up arcade in my house.
Me and my wife built it because I have been a true fan since close to day one.
The reason MK Vs DC Universe is a fantastic game(despite the obvious ifinite glitches) is that it brings back SPEED, that has been sorely missing since MK Trilogy.
I like almost all the games, but I can tell you right now, I would trade each and everyone for the original trilogy in High Def redrawn ala Streetfighter II. I play for the whole experience. And by the way, I heard it was Kintana and Joker only. But who cares. I want it in the original incarnation that the crap Barney version. Geez where you one of those guys that hugged the SNES version and didn't see the big deal? I don't know about you, but I vomitted when I saw all the versions. I kept thinking, geez, I swear a Comodore 128 could have done better. At least the PC version was closer to the arcade. Do you remember the Gravis gamepads? You can't get the "SKILL" with a frickin' gamepad. "I know many of you don't play this series for the gameplay" yeah to put it bluntly, I find that pretty offensive and ASSUMING. What a cheesball thing to say. When I am playing this 20 years from now on my whatever system(and being in my mid 30's and refusing to put Mortal Kombat down), I know that when I pick up that disc...that rom...that frickin crystal holographic whatever...I know that I played it uncensored as it should have been. Yeah, I refused to play that crap Genesis version...even if it did have blood with the dullard code, becuase while it was there at home, there were arcades still standing that had much better gameplay. That is where I come from.
p.s. The European downloads work like a charm on the U.S.A. Playstation. Nuff said.
