Basing my hypothesis upon Ermac's actions prior to MKDA and Kahn's part in his UMK3 story, my initial theory was that he was on the side of good. I'll be the first admit that I had a bias, after all. Inside, I WANTED him to be good. I just didn't care for the concept of him being evil. I just didn't think it fitted him. But after seeing his eyes in the first rendor(select screen torso), he looked willful, not maglignant.
But there were strong arguments on both sides of what his alignment was, and I know there were a lot of mixed feelings on what side Ermac should have taken.
So... what do you guys think?

Well, all I can say is I'm glad he is on his own and not Kahn's bitch. That's something. I'm interested to see how he develops.
im glad hes actually a good guy.
just because you're created by evil and forced to fight on the side of evil doesnt make you evil.
and the warriors he is made up of may even have been forced to fight for Kahn by magic or threatening the life of their loved ones.

I would rather him be Kahn's bitch personally. I still think he should be evil or at least neutral.

All I can say is that I'm SO glad that he's Good!!
I love the good guys!

I don't mind him being good, he still looks like an evil ass bastard to me. And he always will.

Ermac has been one of my new favs from UMK3. I am glad to see he has become a good guy. I hope his ending gives hints on who he frees from the dark prison and more.
i can see his ending being 1 of 2 way:
1) he frees the prisoners from their cells/mind control and together they hold off the Dragon King so Shujinko can work his magic.
2) he sacrifices himself and uses the souls that occupy his body to rip the DK's soul out/away.
my reasoning for the latter being possible is Kanos MK3/UMK ending where the released souls tear Kanos soul out thus killing him.

I'm fine with Ermac being good and all, but I don't want him to turn out to be this corny good guy. I can't stand that. The same goes with Kenshi. I've always seen Kenshi as the hard gritty character who doesn't take shit from no one. It's good that Kenshi has found a new ally in Sub Zero.

Since Ashrah is after Ermac, I'm interested to see how the battle works out. Since this is one of the first battles in MK that is different. It's not good vs. evil, it's just two warriors that have different objectives.
But who knows? It'll probably never happen.

Ermac's good? Wow, that's pretty cool actually. I'm glad that he is, since he's no longer a slave to Shao Kahn, or even the Dragon King. I think that the good guys need a few more players on their side, since most of the bad guys in the MK series are getting armies (Dragon King, Sektor, etc.).

it's strange to see this character beeing in the side of good....maybe the enigma of thousand souls has been finally freed....????

I think it's pretty cool him being good, more so because it will be interesting to see how the Ermac/Ashra conflict plays out. But I think maybe Ermac might have turned good due to Kenshi's actions, maybe showing him that the "good guys" have a noble cause, and could use his assistance.

One of Ermac's enemies is listed as Ashrah, and it's because Ashrah is hunting demons down to purify herself.
However, from his storyline, Ermac isn't an evil demon. So, yeah, it would be interesting.

I had a stomache feeling he would turn out good.
To be honest, i dont mind it that much. His story is still extremely interesting, and i love how one of his enemies is Ashrah. I hope to see something interesting between them.
In all honesty though, i was really hoping that Ermac would be either evil or better yet, neutral. IMO he just doesnt fit good, especially someone being made up of thousands of souls. His alignment being neutral wouldve been perfect for me. I also wouldnt of mind if his alignment was unknown.
But meh, sa'll good. Hopefully we see some sort of deception though in his story.

Ermacs bio reminds me of Nightmares in Soul Calibur II. Just like Seigfried, Ermac now looks to redeam himself of his past sins. I think it's pretty cool. But I find it too coincidental that he and Ashrah have the same motive-purification and redemption.

I knew it would happen. He was either going to be good or neutral.
I don't mind it at all and it'll be interesting to see exactly what good Ermac will actually be attmpting to do.

i think anyone fighting the dragon king is good , and i feel good and evil have the same cause in this game to destroy the dragon king so maybe theyll set aside there differences for now and focus on the dragon king because if he wins there will be no good and no evil . so good and evil fight alongside to destroy a commen enemy!

I was expecting it. This game is called deception for a reason. Ermac's past is shrouded in mystery. So he may infact be putting on an act.
