Even though he is dead, is there any chance we're gonna see the older (5th) Sub Zero again?

| DMitch Wrote: This could be a good idea. I mean the older Sub Zero was evil and the 6th is good and that's what he did to the Lin Kuei, made it good. Maybe if the odler Sub Zero comes back, he'll bring back the original Lin Kuei, a klan of assassins. |
The original Sub-Zero wasn't evil. He was a mercenary, it all depended on who payed him the most.

This is very much a debatable topic, and it has proved so in several other threads.
The latest is in the Classic MK games section.
Here
Scorpio says in that thread how it is, and i 100% agree with him.
It has never been 'said' in those words that there are 6 subzero's! I do not think that there have been, there are only 2!!
The story is
"Sub-Zero learned of his ability as a young adult. It was passed on to him by his father, a fourth generation Lin Kuei warrior himself. Among his first missions for the Lin Kuei, is one that leads him to the Shaolin Temples to steal the sacred Map of Elements"
Scorpio quote:
"where does it say there are 6 sub-zeros? it says the ability was passed down, not the name...the "4th generation" talk doesnt mean he was the 4th sub-zero, it means he was the 4th person in his bloodlne to be in the clan.
the orginal sub-zero (yes, hes the orginal meaning he was the first) learned the ability from his father..as did his younger bother..if their father was 4th gen..that would make them both 5th generation warriors. the only reason the the younger brother retained the name sub-zero, was because his brother (the ORGINAL) failed to return from the shaolin tournament..he wanted to honor his brother's death...read the mk2 book.
its says the ability, not name..both "sub-zero's" are 5th generation..why cant you people get that through your skulls?"
I do not know if it's exactly true. However, I know that there 2 Sub Zero's that we played in the MK games.
Oh and one more thing iI just noticed, which was mentioned before is that the MK:D Sub Zero doesn't have a scar, but maybe they're working on it, so i dunno.

However many Sub Zeros there are is irrelevent. If the Original Sub Zero came back in MK7 or whatever that would be fine, but not if his younger brother still lived, because 2 sub zeros would be boring, it didnt really work with frost, it wont work with them. If he killed his younger brother, that would be cool because then Sub would be a bit of a bad ass again, and let's face it, the bad guys are the best characters when they're cool. And who's cooler than Sub Zero? (Bad Joke, but justified point)
i miss the young looking subzero not the old man we have now in MK:D. so if you really look at it the classic subzero is actually younger than the young subzero now because of the medallion.
so i want an MK3 look again maybe to change that and a badass sub they would have classic sub coem back and kill the weak ass young subzero who is actually the older one now.
better yet never mind thats just stupid keep the sub u got now, i wish it was the same sub all along so i wouldnt have to go through this crap. they really messed sub up.
they should just stick with the rumor that smoke is the classic sub that way we can have them both back.
and kill off reiko in MK7 to end his crap with khan. as a matter of fact KHAn himself should kill reiko in mk7 LOL, now that would be funny and ironic.
back on subj. classic sub no it wouldnt really work like u said frozt didnt kinda work, and she was a female which makes her different.
imagine two exact clones. and oh yes they now have a SCAR for the subzero in MK:D

Bad arse again?
When was he a baddie?
And Frost being a bad addition is your own opinion and not a fact, and this is my opinion - I liked that addition of Frost and would like to her again with a story that has evolved somewhat since MKDA.
Having 2 subzero's would only be a good thing if the original subby comes back very different and evil or something. He can not come back with a similar story because his younger brother has already lived it all and done that. It has to be a major uplift for him to return and personally I do not see it happening.

Reviving the old Subzero and killing the current one would be suicide of the storyline. The last five games have been spent on developing his character, and he's covered so much ground and really advanced in depth.
The only inkling of depth the original Sub had was in MK:M. Not to say that should be overlooked, but it is merely a glimpse compared to what's been done with the younger Subzero. People run under the miss conception that the original Subzero was evil, and therefore they blindly like him more over the Sub_6th.
And the thing that scrambles everything is that the original Sub wasn't even evil. Yes, he was an assassin, but so easily you guys forget how he reacted when he was forced to kill Scorpion. He didn't want blood on his hands, and he most definitely wasn't in love with the idea that he just killed a family man. He scorned Quan Chi, and labeled him with the burden of guilt. Does it ring a bell at all about saving the world from Shinnock? Mourning the death of Sareena, maybe? You guys believe what you want, but the MK history is in stone, peeps. Not to say he was good either. But he was a light shade of gray, which time could have changed for better or worse.
I'll play my cards on the latest Subzero. Although due to some of the tidbits I've been informed of, I fear for what they may have done with his story.

Possible Storyline: From the shadow to stop the Dragon King, The Classic Subby is out for a personal mission of Redemption. Having been told of the truce of Scorpion and his younger brother, he is searching them out for to defeat the Dragon King. Although he will honor his younger brother because he has the Dragon Amulet which enchancer his kori powers. The Classic Subby has alot to teach the Young Subby about the powers and the dangers of the Dragon Amulet and the now infamous Kori Power. He has taken a interest in the new Ice Ninja fighter by the name of Frost. He is thinking to himself that she might be the missing sister.
Fighting Styles: White Tiger Kung fu and Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu.
Weapon: Icy Double Bladed Sword.
What do you guys think about that possible way for Classic Subby to return?
Nice storyline.

i think that the original subby is the subby we've been seeing
no pupils (since he is dead and all)
no scar (original subby didn't have a scar)
no amulet (original subby not the leader ofl.k)
i don't care for sub-zero i have only looked at his early render so if i'm wrong calm down

You might be right, but like you said it might be just the 1st version.

1) Subzero in his ninja alt didn't have pupils in MKDA.
2) The recent pics of MKdeception Subzero have shown him with his scar.
3) His Amulet can clearly be seen in his second costume.
Just a friendly correctly.

Hey Temp, I've been asking this question for about a month, and so far no-one can answer me, I hope you can.
Where is the pic of Sub with scar? I searched every site I could think of but it's no where! (I THINK it was in PLAY magazine) And does either of Sub Zero's costume's show him with pupils? It would be the perfect Deception if Sub Zero (older) took over the Lin Kieu or something... evil! He may even have stolen the amulet from Subbie, and maybe Scorpion will want to kill him once and for all. These are just opinions until I get evidence!
Please help me settle this argument with a pic of scarred Sub-Zero! Or a pic of pupils!

In a word, no.
Every series needs some historical figures, legends we can remember with fondness, or wonder about.
MK's got 2 of those now, I believe: The original Kung Lao, and Original Sub-Zero.
Reviving either one and bringing them back into the fight after being dead for so long would cheapen the overall effect for me. I'm pissed enough as it is that they're bringing back Kang. I'm sick of characters being resurrected, and I'm hoping that this does not happen with Original Subbie.
Consider the big consequence, too. Scorpion would be robbed of the vengeance he worked so hard to get. Despite not touching his younger brother, he'd be bound to destory him again. Having Scorpion go on another "You wronged me, so die (again)" quest would irk many fans. I'd rather he move onto something new.

Did I miss anything or something? cuz i don't remember Kung Lao dying. Original? and the one in MK:DA is not?

2 bring bk classic/original/5th sub-zero would mess around too much of the MK storyline, i have no problem with him making a non-canon appearence in konquest mode but even that would take a bit of the shine away from konquest, i wouldn't have minded the konquest mode following the MK storyline.
as long as 5th sub has a genuine reason 4 being there such as a new technique or 2 to teach i'll b happy.
as 4 the MK storyline i'll stick with the 6th story 4 now it seems 2 b getting rly interesting
