Extended Hooksword Range and Attacks in MKD
0
tgrant, I think that is a great idea. If you could do that with the hookswords, you could do that with all Kombatant's weapons.
Raiden's staff could break into two smaller staffs or a 3 piece numbcha (I don;t know the spelling, so I put it phonetically. Plus I don't even know if that is the name.)
Scorpion's Sword coule break into two. Braraka's Arm blades could do something. (Have no idea there.)
At this point in the process it might be too late to put in MKD, but maybe the next version.
Hope you don;t mind me expanding on your idea.

I thionk it's a great idea, it's like having to weapons in one, the hookswords and the flail blades from it's tip, that'd be awsome, what i would like as well is more interaction in between weapons, but i'll make athread about it
.

Make a thread of possible weapon alternatives. Cyrax's (If he is in MKD) light sword into a light whip.
Plus should weapons have their own special moves?

Excellent examples!
Id love Raidens staff to break down. If it was a 3 sectional staff that could link together as one solid long staff and then break down at will itd be awesome. In the sectional form youd gain an entire new set of attacks. Or, if it broke into two smaller ones, then youd have Kali Stick like attacks maybe.
Barakas Blades should stay as they are. Unless he can have them come out only a part of the way to use as mini daggers. Scorpions sword should be left as it is.
Special moves foe the weapons would be cool. Theyd be special techniques designed specifically for each weapon.
And as for weapon alternatives, I wouldnt know. Nice example for Cyrax though!

Nice thread you made!
I neevr thought about this as two weapons in one before. I guess you're right. The Hookswords themselves are versatile enough to be used in different ways and combining both and having them seperate are just two of those ways.
And I agree, there should definitely be more weapon interaction.

I think it would bea great idea if you see it as two weapons in one, but it may even be a little unfair for the other combatants.

Recovery times and a limit of atctual attacks would most likely be able to fix how fair this would be. That way you'd have to know in advance how to go about attacking the enemy. You couldn't afford any mistakes.
