My favorite good character would probably have to be Sub-Zero. He really has developed as one of my favorite characters in the franchise. Before it was Scorpion--if you wanted to call him a hero--but that got really old, really fast. Sub-Zero, your normal run of the mill hero, but with such a detailed and developed moral standpoint and history, it's remarkable.

My favorite villain would have to be Quan Chi, just because of that cunning and sinister role he has played throughout the game. Overthrowing Shinnok, causing Sub-Zero death, creating Scorpion, killing Shao Kahn, defeating Shang Tsung, and whatever else. Quan Chi is, actually, my second favorite character due to his storyline and persona.
