Yup secret characters were cool. It all started back in the day in an EGM magazine with Sheng Long being a secret character. Wow, how time flies. Actually when SF2 WW came out everyone thought that Sagat was the last guy because you didn't see Bison's icon until you beat Sagat. And Sagat was tough, but Bison was tougher. Reptile in MK was so awesome, I remember everyone being impressed when I first got to Reptile in the arcade. Everyone was crowding around MK lol. When MK2 came out some guy fought Scorpion before the question mark, won one round and then the player 1 get ready thing came on the screen. Everyone was like "what the..." (even the guy playing the game). See back then we didn't know about Jade and the LK thing. People in those days against the computer just did sweeps and jump kicks mostly and that's what triggered it the LK. No one knew...As for the Smoke thing, someone from the Internet got an FAQ and it was published in EGM when EGM and Gamepro did the Revision 3.1review which added Noob Saibot. If you guys didn't know. Noob Saibot was supposed to be in 2.1 as well. If you go and hack the ROM you can see an address for Noob Saibot. Also you can use cheat.dat for your MAME users to find this out. Before 2.1 there were no secret characters so then if you make player 1 Jade etc. player 1 becomes invisible and on rare occasions when you lose the game resets itself and you will see a CPU Kung Lao VS another CPU Kung Lao. They fight each other indefinitly or until the game crashes. The highest I saw it go up to was "Round 5 FIGHT!" then I just reset the game.

I agree that Midway should put in some hard to find easter eggs where the hidden characters are not playable and only fightable, and the boss should not be playable either. Because, then what's the point? Tekken finally realised this with Jinpachi (unplayable), and unplayable bosses in other fighting games.

I agree there should be old school secrets, but if the character is in the game then I want to be able to play them somehow, Bosses included!

Okay so Im open minded enough to look at it from two points of view here...

One being myself, as a gamer, wantin to unlock all secrets to what right up there with the biggest game-related franchises in the World - MK.

Now, on the other hand, theres a business, and money to be made so heres what I reckon COULD be a good idea.

But before I get into that, I totally miss the old days of MK1...MK2 and how the secrets were crazy and far fetched, mind you, remember tryna unlock our zombie Kang? lol What was it again, be in Edenia at such a time, and wait behind the rock, do a little dance, make a little love and voila, Liu Kang is yours!

Hardly easy! But bring on the internet and well, the rest as they say..is history!

But movin on a little to an idea. We know that the next gen is upon us, and for those that have an X Box 360, you know full well that alot can be obtained via X BOX LIVE..

So how would you guys and girls feel if Midway made available various different features over time, for us to download, so to speak?

Ok, ignoring the issues of not everyone havin a next gen console etc etc, that is by the by, but to buy MKA and play the hell out of it, to then have Midway grant us access to a new feature, unlockable thru a download on X Box Live, would be pretty sweet...

Its jus an idea, go mental and swear, bitch and moan if you will, but take it on board, have a think about it?

You buy MKA and are told that in 2 months an upgrade will available whereby an extra background will be made acessible...think of the possibilities.

Maybe ud have to pay a nominal fee for this? I hate to break it to most, but Midway are a business, they dont do what they do for charity, so this makes sense for them aswell as us, to a certain degree.

Again, its only a thought, and it could be said for any game I guess
