Do you think it would be cool if they would use FMVs to show the fatalities? I think they would add more detail and make them more grusome. But its probably too late in development for them do add this.

Yea its WAY too late for that. We'll be lucky if we get FMV endings. Maybe in MK7, as long as they could make it work properly. No slow down and other memory related problems.

No, because they would have to make it like this
Sub V Mavado
Sub V Mavado alt costume
Sub V Bo Rai Cho
Sub V Bo Rai Cho alt costume

And I think you know where i'm getting to.

bloofy summed it up...since this EXACT same topic came up about 3 days ago, I suppose i'll just repeat it.

You'd have to make an fmv for EVERY POSSIBLE character pairing...it would take 2 discs alone to hold all that fmv

Well it's a clevor marketing ploy to be certain. But in all reality I think MK FMVs would be the highest of the highs. Bringing stage fatalites and actual fighting and we've got ourselves a true MK game, kids. Need I mention the return of Baraka? Oh man, some serious ass whupin coming up, online style.

its true it would take ALOT of memory but what if they made it for every charchter and his rival only like his worst enemy the guy he's in the game to kill...you see where im headed with this? ex: scorpion VS. Quanchi FMV fatality
scorpion VS. anyone else normal fatality

they dont even have to include the ALT costume because thats sometime niglected in FMV

what do yall think?

i already made a topic about this more than a month ago.... and since then i have realized that yes it would be cool, it couldn't work since you'd have to make an FMV fatality from one character to be done on EVERY other character.... no way they could fit it all AND still have a great game which fits everything else on the disc.... FMV endings would be better

It's a cool concept, but just not pratical. Besides, FMVs can take just as much away from a game as they add. Personally, I don't think I'd want to watch an FMV for each Fatality I do.

Like I said, it's not pratical. You need a different FMV for every character combination + background setting. I mean Sub-Zero (default) and Scorpion (default as well) in one level would end a different FMV for Sub (default) and Scorp (default) in a different level because of the background, unless you assume that Midway would use the back FMV for every background location. Then your Sub (default) and Scorp (altnerative) in the same level would require a different FMV as well. So on and so forth.

And even if it was pratical, I wouldn't like ending a match, loading an FMV, then going back to the in-game graphics for the '___ wins' stance (unless that's to be part of the FMV as well).

It doesnt really have as much to do with disc space as it does with funding. The opening FMV for Deadly Alliance cost 250 grand to make, now imagine every fatality to the 4 power and that is a lot of money.

yah i think if the fatalitys were fmvs it could ruin the whole fatality thing because u wont feel like ur playing a game anymore.

I don't like the idea of fmv fatalities, I prefer them in real time, as they have always been.

Its definitely possible to incorporate fmv fats in a gracefull way. Its even possible to have them all on one dvd. I just don't expect to see them on MKD because boon and fans would rather see attention to other details like we missed out on in MKDA.

The idea's nice and it would be great to watch and for them to be put into a section in the game to watch again but if you want that feature I would add at least an extra 7 months onto the game development for the amount of Fatalities there are.
