yup, slim ps2's suck

lol, i've owned 1 ps2 since 2002 and it was one of the old school big ones. I've never had any problems with mine. I gave it to my nephew a couple of months ago and he's never had problems either =P...Only thing i ever replaced were controllers (mkd-lol)....brandon, pick up a 360 and we can play virtua fighter =)

the only problem i have with it is that it wont play dvds anymore.

yeah i am waiting to find out what's wrong with the PS3s, I am probably gonna buy a PS3 when MK8 comes out, but gotta have a PS2 controller, I can not play with them anolog like D-pads, I try to back up it jumps, try to do a special it ducks.

i've owned two big ps'2s and two slim ps2's ...but the last slim one was of my own doin g the rest had the same issues you mentioned.a time i was playing online i pulled my ps2 off the table ,i threw the controller and the ps followed.the bad thing about it was ,i wasnt finished saving from the fight and it just erased all my data form the whole card ...all mk mkd stuff my mkda and mka and the rest of my 10 yr or better gaming history...i made a back up but i didnt update it since legacy of kain 'defiance'.

The worst my bro's PS2 has done is not load a game for a few hours. But yeah, Sony's products overall started sucking when they released the PS2. I literally had been playing with the original Dual Shock controller for the old PS1 since the PS2 Dual Shocks were busted up badly.

You guys seriously SUCK DONKEY DICK when it comes to taking care of your PS2. Either you overplay it to a point where the thing is hotter than hell or you just beat up your PS2 when you lose or some shit. Mine however is kept tucked away on top of my shelf away from anything that can spill, break, etc. on it. You have to be real retarded to go through several consoles. You might as well stop buying them so you don't end up breaking them. Shit!

Ive had my ps2 since MGS3 came out...never had any problems with it. I dont know what the fuck you people do to your ps2's but it needs to stop.


And there is absolutly nothing wrong with ps3. Ive had it since august and it never froze, never got wild or any of the other crap people that rant about it say.

I play in the confort of my cold basement, i lay my ps3 vertically cuz i am smart (hot air travels upwards so placing it verticaly will alow the hot air to leave more easy....which means more playing time)

Shit man those people leave they're ps3 open all the fucking time and then complain that it burned sometihng.

That just goes to tell you how much people take care of they're things. then they go to forums and cry...just pisses me off like hell. Wasting money here and there on crap...while poor people would kill for a cent. think of the blacks in South Africa huh...when u buy a ps2-3, think about how much those children would give for that chance....

the xbox 360 is the worst. im not sure about the xbox elite though.

most of the ps3 problems seems to be human error. i use my controller to turn on the PS3, i dont touch it.

go to youtube it'll have videos of every system having problems. WII, xbox/360, ps3 (like i said human error or the 20 GB version). i actually have a video of problems w/ my slim PS2.


the major problem w/ the older PS2's i heard is if you have the PS2 near speakers something to do w/ the magnets.



the best system ever that never broke no matter what you did to it was the Nintendo Entertainment System. you could drop it, kick it, punch it, throw it across the room, shove wet towels in it to clean the dust out and the thing would still turn on.


i had the PS3 for 2 months now, no problems.

thats why PS3 is the best.

my friend has an XBOX360,and he said that the elite 360 breaks a lot easier then the normal 360.

i have two little speakers for my PS2,i have my PS2 right in front of my speakers and i never had a problem with it. so i think that the speaker rumor is a lie.

Oh, man, NES. That was the best built system ever. I remember my NES was just plain beat up. It still turned on, and played the game, lmao.

My slim hasn't had any problems since I bought it when it came out.

lol Like others have expressed, you gotta treat these systems like they're fine china, cause they're generally not meant to last long if you have stuff on top of it or not have anything near the fan. And granted the slim doesn't have one, you gotta give it it's own space. Yeah, it's had issues w/ overheating due to it's flawed internal design, but keep it in a space it itself and that problem shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Well, your just lucky, my fat PS2 lasted alot longer then the slim one and I treated that worst, but if you really want crappy hardware then go for the 360.

Yo nakm, do some reasearch fool ,look up disk read errors and other junk for the ps2......the first gen big ps2 had so many probs they sent out a recall! i had 2 of those.....the last gen BIG ps2 is the ONLY ps2 worth having and mine finally gave up...after stoped reading dvd's a long time ago.


the first gen slimline had mad recalls......overheating and the cheap-ass laser burning out..........hints why they re-did the slimline...new laser and compnents inside.........it IS THE FUCKING MANUFACTURER's fault SONY is to blame for this not me.you ppl who have had the same ps2 got lucky or have a fixed gen. note on how theres 6 gen's of ps2............Do some reasearch and you will see ....google it.


i thought id get alot more ppl having or had probs cuz everyone i know has had several ps2's thrashing them or not 4 gen's were horrible.Grand Theft Auto alone killed so many ps2's from the constant loading the lasers couldnt handle it.
