Mobster_For_SATAN just made a post in another thread saying that if you hated Tanya don't because Boon said she'd look completely different than she did in MK4. I wanted to reply to that but we were already going off-topic, so I thought I'd create my own thread.

I know there are a lot of Tanya haters out there - many who think she was a Kitana look-alike or who thought she took her place in MK4. Others thought she was a poor fighter. I don't know - I didn't play MK4. And maybe that's a good thing, because I'm looking at her from a fresh perspective. All I know is that she had a boomerang in MK4. Other than that she's as new to me as Kira.

As of right now we know nothing about Tanya - what she looks like, what her styles, weapon and special moves are, and what her fatalities will be. So why don't we abandon our expectations and reserve judgement until she is finally playable. If you had genuine reasons to dislike Tanya, I'm not trying to invalidate them. But who knows, she could be kick ass - and your favorite in MKD.

Those are just my thoughts - sorry if I got a little preachy. Anyway thank you for listening.

She looks almost the exact same as in MK4 as seen in puzzle kombat.

i agree. I hate don't like new MK4 characters, but i would give them a chance. Tnis is MKD and I'm sure Tanya will be ok.
Boon said she wont look like she did.....ill try to find where he said that

I love Tanya and can't wait to see what she looks like. She does look similar to how she was according to Puzzle Kombat, but she was so small then, it is hard to tell.

I hope all her old moves are in the game and that hse has the Bommerang or maybe two of them! She'll be great! I know it!
Its five months away and no i cant find where he said she wont look like she did....maybe M4C knows

I can't wait to play as Tanya. I know most people hated her, but I have always thought she was one of the best characters. I can't wait to see her new look properly and along with Mileena, she is the character I am most interested in!

Bleh, Tanya should be sent away. Besides Quan Chi, all of the new MK 4 characters were uninspired and rushed, they should never be seen again. What do I have against Tanya, you may ask? Sketchy story, a boomerang as a weapon, and some terrible ass fatalities. Nothing serious, but I still don't like her.

There are only two new characters from MK4 that I would give another chance, and Tanya wasn't originally one of them, but I guess now I can come to accept it and give her another chance.

And if they plan on giving her that neck twist Fatality back, make it a little cooler.

I personally think that Tanya is going to basically be a semi clone a Nitara. Nitara had Tanya's flip kick, the blood spit could be like the boomerang throw. Im sure the developers arent going to just throw away the fighting style used by Nitara in MK:DA, so who better to give them to than tanya.

Tanya may have not been an "original" character, whatever an "original" character is supposed to be now. However, she was top tier, had a lot of tools and could lay shit out all day long. I look forward to seeing how she developes in the Big D.

any1 whos knows how to play mk games knows tanya was one of the fastest and strongest in MK4

and actaully her storylines was pretty tight....she is one of the most evil girls there was, which is important..how many evil girls r left if u tihnk bout it!

Yeah, I'm ready to give her another chance and am actually quite excited!! I think they realise that alot of people didn't like her in MK4 (well, alot of MK4 characters), and that's why I think they will try and make her as original as poss. They will have a good reason for her to be there and won't just throw her in there with natara's moves or anything like that. They ain't that silly. Think about it...
-so far they have listened to the fans for alot of the characters in the game
-tanya wasn't exactly popular/top of the list to come back
-ed obviously has somthing up his sleeve for her to make us go wow!! how did you do that with TANYA!?!


and as someone else pointed out in another thread...Ed said..."If you didn't like Tanya before, good. Cuz she's not gonna be anything like she was in MK4"...or somthing similar to those words

I think Tanya was excellent. I can't believe people are saying she was useless. I could pretty much get a flawless everytime with her. Her neck breaker was a little bit rubbish, but other than that, she was a superb charatcer. And as for original...how can you still make an original fighter these days? With so many fighting games and characters around, this is a losing battle. She was fine then, and I'm confident she will be fine now too.

I think Tanya fits perfectly with the sub title deception. Take her ending in MK4 for example she decieved Lui Kang. It is perfect thinking by the MK Team.

yes give her a chance... i hated her in mk4... though im not sure why really lol... fighting wise she was one of the better characters in mk4 she was very fast and deadly to play as... story wise she has great potential in deception being a big deceiver herself... so im definately giving her a chance as im giving every returning character a chance even if i didnt like them previously... only ones i won't give another chance are mokap, meat and probalby styker... but if tanya gets a new look and some better moves she could be great in this one...

Well, I personally would rather see Tanya return, rather than Li mei. So, I have no quams about Tanya being in MK:D. I think she has (or had) more potential than Li Mei.
