Yeah, Will Smith's performance was awesome. I really didn't think it'd be that good but I'm glad I got to watch it. I think his next movie is Hancock.

Com'on Bobby! It wasn't as bad. How would you have ended it? You wanted him to be like Blade? Then it would take the realism out of it. He was never going to win the battle.

The movie is suppost to be based off the book. In the ending of the book im pretty sure there is no colony or cure. I was talking about all the sudden he goes kamikaze and 2 seconds later the bitch is driving and finds the colony...THE END.

There was something on the internet that will smith leaked the ending in an interview before the movie came out so they did a reshoot of it. I wonder what the original ending was beause the one that they used sucked.

ummm.. I hear what you mean about the fact that all of a sudden there was a Colony somewhere. I'll like to find out what the alternative ending would have been. Maybe they'll include the original one when DVD gets released.

the rest of the movie was fucking awsome though. Its just too bad they didnt put the ending together better.

well, the books ending is TOTALLY different. There is a reason it was calleed I AM LEGEND. The book makes the titel make more sense. Also there is more story behind the creature he had the cure for. The book is different. i dont know if the books ending would have matched the movie to be honest. I actually like the ending. It had a spirtual tone to it that i liked. To me the movie would have been better if it were a 3 part made for TV movie. It could have explored more aspects of the story. However, that would probably take Will Smith out of the movie. And he was the best part. I am surprised there is no Oscar buzz about his role. It was probably the best acting I have ever seen in a movie

I heard that movie was awesome, I also want to see AVP2. Heard that was pretty sweet too, much better then the first AVP I keep hearing. My friends saw it, but I've been sick this whole week so I haven't been able to go out, once I'm better I'm definitely seeing AVP2. Love Predator movies, aliens are mehh

Yea the ending was bugged out. Its the first time I've seen Will Smith die in a movie though.

I thought the ending to I Am Legend was fine... it was just too fucking abrupt. To me, it seemed like he'd JUST met that lady and her kid and the next thing... he's dead, movie over.

The movie itself was good, but I think it could have been fleshed out more and the ending could have had more build-up to it. Not a bad movie, though.


@MKF... I went and saw AVP:R. My opinion? Eh. The "story" was actually less impressive than the first one. It was rated R, though, which provided a TON of violent, gruesome deaths. Much more than the first one. And there was no "Predator teaming with human" bullshit in this one, at least.

Story was probably better in the first one (despite the "team") and the violent-roots were better in the new one.

Neither can hold a candle to the original "Predator" and "Alien" movies, though.

i didnt like the ending either. I liked The Great Debaters. That was a great movie. I encourage anyone who likes Denzel to go see it.

They should do a movie with Denzel and Will Smith. They have to be allies though, cant see them as enemies.

Why Denzel and Will Smith? I love black actors...but we dont need overkill...those types of movies dont always work. In truth, I think it woudl be bad for both. Denzel would come off as old, less contemporary, and less cool compared to Smith. While Smith would come-off corny and unsophisticatted next to Washington.

I would rather see....either one of them with Al Pacino. Smith-Pacino or Washington-Pacino.

Will Smith is not stupid, in fact he's a very smart guy and very nice as well as gives to charities and organizations. Not sure why you would think that but umm ok...also one of the few celebrities that's actually got a good rep, still with his wife, family man and stays out of trouble.

Just want to let you know that "Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"=just a role, that's not how Will Smith really acts in real life...

I just think he would look unsophisticated when he is next to you Denzel. Its not just about talent its chemistry...if you put Will smith next to eddie Murphy...will isnt that funny. Take for example when will smith was next to Martin Lawrence....he was able to come off less comical and more serious because he was the straightman. His character was to be taken seriously which was the first time he played a character that was to be taken seriously. If he wasnt successful at that there woudl be no I AM LEGEND...however, if you had Will next to Denzel in Bad Boys...first off Will would have had to be Martins character cuz it wouldnt have worked the other way and he wouldnt have come off as serious or sophisticated next to Denzel....he wouldl have looked like some kid. This would have been a bad step for him because he would have been type-cast as the funny urban kid sidekick....basically he would have been playing the Fresh Prince in every movie.

oh...here is a great matchup of actors that will NEVER happen....Johnny Depp (best actor alive) and Denzel.....Depp and Smith I dont think would work well.

All of this i am saying depends upon the script, the roles adn the relationship of the characters to each other in these roles....

I was merely elaborating on your view on Smith's role next to Denzel, you're right...you never called him stupid..that was just the vibe I got from your previous post.

I do disagree with ya though on the point if both of them were in a movie together, like you said he's a smart guy when it comes to book smarts despite if he may "appear" that way in his movie roles.

To some other people I've chatted with, they have thought that he's a "goofy dumb guy" based off some of his roles, but that's not true. I mean, the point of being an actor is to "act" like anything depending on the movie.

Celebs IMO should be judged based off their real life actions as oppose to a particular role they should play in a movie or show.

Example, a lot of people believe Jim Carrey is "funny" on screen he is and in gag reels but if you read about him, a lot of directors will say he's got an attitude and anger problems..on the sets if he doesn't get his way, he's very picky when it comes to roles, movies and money/contract deals...

I'm a bit of a movie buff so I read about my fav actors or popular ones in general.

But yeah, I know you never said Will Smith is stupid but I do disagree a bit on the unsophisticated gig. Denzel seems "serious" more then Will Smith might be if they played similar roles but I don't believe that would take away from Will Smith personally, ID4 anyone? He was as serious, badass in that movie as you can be and I am legend I've seen clips, bits and read about it(just haven't seen the whole movie yet) his role appears to be very serious.

I'll admit though, I like Wii Smith overall. A good actor, good guy outside movies and overall is very entertaining to watch IMO.

Why don't you guys add some Causacian actors into the mix e.g. Tom Cruise, Reeves, Cage etc, etc. It would make it more interesting. For example, I think Cruise could pull off that role in I AM LEGEND but would suck in Bad boys 2 or Legend of Bagger Vince. Will Smith I have to say though has proved to be a VERY versatile actor. I actually see him pulling anything off. I don't think he actually has a match when it comes to his dynamic ability. Matt Damon is another good too and DiCaprio.

Good points Trax ^^, you know who else is believe it or not a great, versatile actor. Robin Williams. Can play crazy parts, serious parts or evil parts..

Oh yeah! His performance in Good Will Hunting was awesome! And then in that movie with Al Pacino, Insomnia. But I don't know if he could pull of an all action role. I'm not sure if he's ever done anything like that.

Ha, Ha yeah that's a good point. You have to be somewhat athletic to pull off those roles and we all know you can be "the best" actor but if you're not athletic at all, an action role could be a problem.

Depending on the role, I think Robin could pull it off. If it's something like the matrix, doubtful lol but something like a war hero role I could see him doing.

I have to disagree with a point someone made...I dont think Cruise coudl have done I AM LEGEND. The role worked cuz Will Smith was able to make you feel a full range of emotions includind genuine humor....the humor juxtaposed to the sadness made the sadness more profound. I dont think Cruise could have pulled off the humor as well.

btw...i think it was confused...but i want to clarify...Will Smith...was the first pick for the Matrix....I think he declined it because he was doing either Wild, Wild West or MIB. That would have been a VERY different movie...with him in it.
