Before anyone says, "MK is all about the blood," remember that the first Mortal Kombat (on SNES)did'nt even have blood. But, it seems that with every MK installment, the blood level increases. But, in Deadly Alliance, I think they were a little out of control with it. You can agree, or disagree with me, but, I think that it's uneccessary to have all of that blood in a game (even if it is mortal kombat). I know that you can change the blood option to a low level, but the problem with that is it's very unrealistic.
I've always thought it would be better if you had to open a gash on your opponnt, to cause them bleed. It would be a lot more realistic. The bloodstains, and foot tracks, can stay, but be more evolved. I'll pobably get a lot of flack for this, but I really do think that there's too much blood.

if u don't like the idea of excess blood (i pursonally luv blood all over the room when fighting in MK) there is a thing in options where's theres like blodd; off, min or max sumthin like that. I dont think that blood count will change.

I don't mind the blood... I just HATE that steamy, chunky puke!!!!

i agree that its sort of unrealistic with so much blood spilling around but i prefer it that way...
I don't think they've gone too far, they just haven't got it quite right. On low there is almost no blood especially on an impale which is just wrong, yet on MAX, any small hit leaves a puddle of blood on the ground!! Like you said, a open wound, could have blood gushing, but not for a light tap to the chest.

I like the idea of having to hit your oponent a few times, before actually causing them to spill blood. I don't know if you understand this, but, it would be more INTENSE to actualy have to work at opening a womb, on your oponent, that causes them to bleed. That way, it will be more rewarding, I think, when you draw blood. I can't believe there are'nt more people who undestand this concept. I think that they should at least have it as a lower blood level option, instead of having one amount of blood hit the ground in the same continuos pattern.

I agree, I've always thought it was stupid that you punch a guy in the chest and some blood flies out. But I don't think it will change; despite its absence in SNES MK1, blood and fatalities are an important part of the MK series.

Dude, if you had to open a WOMB in your opponent to bleed, THAT would totally be taking it way too far!

Well I hope the gore in fatalities is better than pink little balls.
i agree with shakazulu, xcarnagex and the first poster.
the amount of blood on the impales and weapon styles (providing the weapons are of stab/cutting class) should stay the same but ordinary punching to the head should be worked at to draw blood. i would personally like to see saliva effects on the jabs and even some teeth come out from the hooks and kicks. then some bigger but moderate splashes of blood when the life bar is a half or third left.
i also think that the crap loads of blood duing the rounds kind of takes the shine out of the amount of gore and shock value in the fatalities.

Exactly, that's what I'm saying. With all the puddles of blood, there is no shock value, left to the game, and it's not at all intense. And, if you've played a boxing game (or one of the like), where you have you get to make cuts on your opponent, you will probably know what I mean when I say it's more INTERACTIVE. I know that MK is not a boxing game, but, nevertheless, it's still hand to hand combat, no matter what the sport.

I don't fully agree with this analogy. Although the blood is a part of MK, I think there's a lot more that has to do with MK's success. The storyline should not be overlooked, because if it was'nt for this, MK could have never been what it is today, no matter how gory. The storyline is actually the biggest part of the game (rather you know it or not). And, I also believe that MK will never be respected, as a serious fighting game (of the same calibur as SC, DOA, VF, Tekken), until, they put less emphasis on puddles of blood, and more on fighting strategy.
And, anyone who's saying they want to see more body organs may need some professional help...that's not normal.

i like the blood cause its funny.
it was never serious. the more blood the better, i want this shit piling up! buckets and buckets.
the humor of mk has always been the fatalities and blood. while the serious part has been the storyline. so why not keep the humor going so it stays even with the storyline, which seems to be getting better

Spilling blood is an integral part of that which is MK.
I would say that the MK DEV team should concentrate on making the blood more realistic... in the sense that they should take into account the amount of damage dealt by a blow to spill a believeabe amount of blood. Also they seem to be heading the right way, going for more of a blood spraying effect as opposed to the "chunky" blood.
Another thing i think, that needs to be worked on is the blood flowing down the character model. Though it seemed to follow the contours on the models pretty well, i think most people would agree that it was too...for lack of a better descriptor "caterpillar-like" in DA. This should definitely be fixed.
Clothes being stained by blood wouldnt be a bad idea as well.

HAHAHAHA!!!! IT WAS CATTERPILLAR LIKE!!!!
Also, the bloo flowed like 1 inch avobe the skin when you kill ,moloch!!!
What I don't really like is the bruising system... The bruises can only bee seen on the face and appear too soon and too easily... aftera while they get all clumped up and looks likepaint fell on the screen....

I did'nt like the bruising system, either...I also think that the bruise appeared too quickly, and not dramatic enough...this was probably because of a lack of memory, but, to have this unevolved, in MK6 would be unacceptable.
And I'm wondering if anyone read the part where I said that realistic blood amounts should at least be an OPTION.
