I find them pretty distracting.

I mean, the one above is as big as Smokes torso.

Christopher777 - I understand where you're coming from. But we'll get used to them. wink There's so much going on in the MKD screen. Fight state indicators, combo breaker flashes of blue, counter hit flashes of red, health, time, Combo calculation...hell, if you're spending any amount of time focusing on that, you WILL end up in a Deathtrap.

The blue doesnt bother me so much, as it serves a function.

The red though bothers the hell out of me because its so noticable and it serves no purpose but to show a big hit.

I see what your saying... but its exactly my point

There is just way too much going on, on the screen in MKD.

Its not so much that its distracting from the fight, but rather it takes away from the ambiance of the game. Im fighting in a dark environment, surrounding by bodies and spikes at night, fighting a deadly enemy, then BAM! Big red Batman style light the size of a torso to break the dark mood.

Dan as long as I can turn those huge ass red lights off Ill be 100% happy with this game.

My worry is that you can't, and they are just there for decoration.

Id love to see some proof about it...

But I don;t think we no for sure yet.

Why are we bitching about hit lights?? i mean in every game theres gonna be a flaw of some sort like a character is flawed in a attack, it freezes up after u kill some1 importaint ect. i mean it looks like a great game when u got a RPG and killing all wrapped into 1 game so we should be happy that they took this much TIME to make a good sequal and not pull a final fantasy and make one within 6 months

(im not bashin FF i love em i just dont like the new ones)

Here is my speculation:

Once you have turned off the indication lights on the life bar, dont you think that the "big hit" and "counter" lights would disappear also? Why would they remain there?

It seems quite simple, really. I understand how it may be bothersome to a few, but I can almost guarantee that there will be an option to turn it off so that you can be friggen happy.

End of speculation...

Just because Im annoyed with this aspect of the game, doesnt mean I don;t appreciate the game.

Im all about constructive criticism, refining whats good to make it better.

This is just one of those small steps.

yes and tekken is a joke because of the hit lights.

this big red hit light in MKD looks so horrible that it can stop me from buying MKD if there is no option to turn it off.

They could really care less whether you buy it or not being based on counter hit lights being in the game.

But the lights in tekken have a purpose.
And as long as they do in MKD (which they kinda do), I don't see a problem with them.

They would probably be more useful if the counter hits actually meant something (like special hit properties, or that the opponent couldn't use a breaker if they were counter hitted), but I don't see much evidence of the counter hits doing anything, which would make the indications rather redundant.

Still I don't mind them, but I would prefer the counter hits to do something more.
