Shinnok's amulet is a copy of the original that has some of it's powers and it's also weaker than the original.

quan chi gave it to shinnok

Shinnok started wi it, quan cha stole it n gave him a fake then Quan Chi died and the Dragon King got it!
now it looks like Quan, Shinnok and Dragon king have it haha shockin!!

I think Shinnok Amulet will say better on Quan Chi ( it is part of His MK:DA costume, and i don't think Midway will chage the costumes of MK:DA or MK:D, maybe they should make it that Quan Chi stole it back from Onaga)

if you watch close on the deception video,then notice quan chi runs away just before the dragon king kills raiden and shang tsung.
the dragon kings one is also a fake and quan chi still has the real one

lol, another confusing factor:
Quan Chi apparently gets the amulate form Shao Kahn when he dies in MKSM. And, are you serious that Onagas is also a fake amulate??? Thas so confusing!

All you need to know now is that the real Amulet is in Onaga's possession. However I believe they revealed that Shinnok has managed to obtain it once again.
However, given that Quan did make copies, Onaga could possess a fake one, just like the one Quan originally gave to Shinnok.

Well I thought there were two parts to the amulet, that combined to form the amulets whole. If this is true, then mabey Shinnok has one peice and Quan has the other.

Shao Kahn started off with it! (from what we saw of MKSM)
Then Quan Chi had it
Shinnok had a Fake
Shang n Quan fighted over it
Onaga has it!

I did not see Quan Chi make it out when Raiden blew everything up at the end of the MKD intro movie. Is that true?
EDIT: Someone's ending is true, but I do not think that Onaga has it anymore either. Depending on whoever kicked Onaga's ass, they either have it, or have lost it after getting it.

although, if quan chi had it the whole time, how would shinnok have had all those powers since he got the fake one, you never know, he could've swapped 'em afterward but judging by deceptions konquest (shinnok's side mission) i'd say he never gave shinnok the real one, my bad...

Thats probably the best explanation so far!

It only controlled the Undead Army because part of Shang Tsung's soul-transfer spell included the command to "obey he who possesses the amulet." The Dragon King overruled this, as seen in MKD's intro.
Otherwise, the Amulet grants Shinnok the ability to retain his Elder God powers outside of the heavens, and it also serves as the final key to combining the Kamidogu.

So there fore without the Amulet Shinnok is powerless!!

and you forgot to mention that it can open certain portals a.k.a. the reason how Quan chi escaped in MKDA intro and maybe how shinnok escaped in the netherrealm, well without it he wouldn't be able to kill lucifer... also i think it helped him defeat all the other elder gods in MK4, and wage that war that happened centuries ago or something..... i eat P.0.0.....

The main use of the Amulet is to fuse the Kamidogu.
