Okay, there is a ten-year span between MKDA and MK1. And the longest any officer can stay a Second Lieutenant is about 18 months to two years. Same holds true for First Lieutenant, so that means under normal circumstances, Sonya would've been a Lieutenant for three to four years.

Yeah, but once you hit Major, you get all grumpy because you are now a Field Grade Officer and have to sit on your ass to wait for Lieutenant Colonel so you can have your own battalion. And if you are a Second Lieutenant for over a 18 months, Shao Kahn would say, "You Suck!"

I'm not sure why he didn't get promoted.What is his current status,mabye he did get a promotion.

Also,I though Sonya only got promoted to General in her ending,and her ending might not have happened.But I could be wrong.

Maybe he didn't get promoted because he was boning Kitana, like I said earlier, in perhaps another thread. And THE MAN didn't like it; Jax bonin' Kitana I mean. Not the other thread. But THE MAN didn't like that either.

I find Sonya's ending interesting in MK:DA as she get's to pick her area she want's to care for and her hand picked team. It says that she now deal with terrorist threats ON earth. It also says that Kenshi stays in the outworld investigation agency. Maybe this will explain what is looking like sonya, jax and cyrax's absense from MK:D. And why Kenshi is still there.

Sonya has always had the look to become the head of the team. I mean, she was introduced as a strong army woman, which you don’t see a lot.

I believe due to her many accomplishments, she got the promotion. She has by far done much more then Jax anyway.

She has done enough to be promoted. She has been the one to track down every single black dragon member, including Kano and Jarek. She defeated both of them alone. She fought in the very first tournament against Tsung and survived. She saved Kenshi when he was found near death. She has also saved Jax –many- times.

Maybe that’s why she was promoted General. She must had done something to get a higher rank then Jax.

She is by far, more important then he is.

BTW, this has NOTHING to do with Jax being black dude! Ed Boon LOVES Jax!

Ok, Sonya dying? Never will happen. She may sit out a game or two, but the team will never kill her off. It is obvious that she is their favorite female character even over the likes of Kitana, though i think she may be second. As far as killing Sonya? I don't think you'll ever see that. If they ever end the series you can pretty much bring it to the bank that Sonya will be in that game and that she will survive it. Sorry it's just the way it is.

I agree. Sonya IS the teams fave female, and she is obviously the most popular around. She cant die.

I wrote a thread about this sometime ago and the same reply was there and it still as much bull as it was then. don't get me wrong, Sonya is an A+ character and her apearance in DA only made her that much better, but Jax has been there and has accomplished just as much as she has.

She's track down all the black dragon? I think the Red Dragon had a small part in that. Plus Jax didn't sit on his ass and watch. MK: Special Forces wasn't the best game but the proof is there.

She saved Jax. THERE PARTNERS!! that's to be expected. But when he saves her that's considered a flook right?

Jax was the head off the OIA. He played as much part in SAVING THE WORLD and Sonya did, and was the first of the Special Forces to find out about the Red Dragon.

All in all, Jax is top notch and is just as important as Sonya. Yes Sonya was the first girl of MK. Yes she is the best girl fighter and one of the best fighters period, but she done nother more or nother less than anyone else in MK.

They killed Liu Kang...its not inconceivable that they would kill other favorites. She may be popular but storywise she hasn't really mattered since...well, ever.

I almost feel like Sonya isn't important enough to be killed off. She's an original, but in the grand scheme of things, would it really matter if she died? I don't think so, which is exactly why she won't die. It takes an icon like Liu to die for the plot to really be affected.

Ok. Perhaps this is true. Good thing there seem to be alot of people who like Sonya and for now they seem to out number the ones who don't. BTW, sorry for coming off as a bit of a smartass, I just re-read my post and I could have been more mature about it.

Is it just me or are the team running out of ideas and making the male fighters into women. It was frost in Deadly alliance( sub zero) now its rayden????
Sonya has to be part of the team becuase it does not seem varied enough. (plus sindel in her alternate outfit looks like a clown)

Now as for the top woman of Mortal komabt its definitley sonya. Appeared in every single game excpet for the second. She was the prime in the movies, cartoons and comics, need I have to go on....
