Out of your list. I've played soul calibur 4 many times, and I have played the demo for Virtua Fighter 5.

After playing Mk vs DC, i never went back to playing Soul Calibur 4. I don't think that necessarily means I think MK vs DC is better than Soul Calibur...but the fact that I I still enjoy MK vs DC does say I think it's one of the more addictive and fun fighters I've played in a while. So yeah, I think it's a worthy contender.

The game is so much better than MKDA-MKA. It just needed more content, unlockables, and polishing. If the game had blood and no superheroes, I bet the game would have had better reviews. But the thing is, those elements have nothing to do with replay value and gameplay.

If you liked MK1-MK4, you should like MKvsDC.

SCIV & VF5 both have great graphics.

But MKvsDCU Has both great graphics and gameplay which = WIN!

SF4>MKvsDC. SC4 looks like barely anything changed since 3 or even 2.

SFIV is great, but no where near as good or fun as MKvsDCU. IMHO.

Thats just not true.
1) They dropped the Soul Charge
2) They added in the Soul Crush which leads to the Critical finish
3) They screwed with most of the move-sets twice! Meaning you never have to play as the same Ivy from game to game!
4) And if you want, you got RPG style skills thing which makes the Tower of Lost Souls easier.

Just because it hasn't changed in every which way since the first iteration of the series doesn't mean that it hasn't changed. Or evolved.

I admit I do love Soul Calibur but anyone could have told you how SCIV has changed over SCIII.

On MK Vs DCU, the gameplay is fun and it does seem to have love put into it. It did need more development time to fine tune and balance.

The graphics are a mixed bag. The characters are fairly well detailed and the damage system looks great (particularly on Scorpion). But the arenas look a bit dull. And the hair on some of the characters look awful.

Replay value is a bit mixed as well. Story and Arcade are fun while it lasts and you have combo challenge and online play on top of that as well. But thats it.

I do like MK's combat the best, but there isn't enough unlockables. Street Fighter and Smash bros both have lots of unlockables with a really good combat system.
