How many people will search out the death traps when they first get the game?

I think I may do this when I finally get Deception. I'm really curious as to what the death traps all are so I might go into VS. mode and move a character over to the deathtrap and knock them through to see what happens. Will anybody else do this?

I will. As part as my training before I go online is to know every single thing there is to know about the character of choice to fight with as well the dangers of each level has. As Ed Boon stated in a recent interview . he said it could be the 1st round and if you get caught in a death trap it's all over, there is no 2nd or 3rd round. So I must be prepared . It sort of bothers me that I will spend a consider amount of time to be one of the best out on MK6 online and lose a round do to some lucky guy that got me do to a death trap. I think it would have been better of the death traps would have come on during the 2nd round of the match. I will try to discover every death trap there is, but think I will do so in practice mode or in a 2 player match with the profile disabled so I won't get a win number or lost.

Yeah it said that you only lose that round. Kinda makes death in death trap seem useless.

1UP: If they fall into a death trap, that's one round they are dead for, not the whole match, right?

Boon: One round, yeah. It's not two out of three.

There's the infamous quote. I interpret Boon's response as meaning that if you fall into a death trap, you die. You don't fight a second round due to his "It's not two out of three." response.

Either way, what I meant in the original post was whether or not you were just going to try them out to see what they looked like or did lol. But I guess this could be a good training idea as well...

...Do you think death traps will work in training mode?

I will.

I hope that when you die, you die and thats it.

Like:

"Round 1, Fight!"

DEATH TRAP (ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!)

There is no "Round 2, Fight!"

Its just round 1....end, fatality, death.

No more.

what I will do is what I did two years ago. Open the package and rush to put it in....choose the character I thought looked the best from the gameplay movies (Kung Lao, this list doesnt include chars like scorp of sub...). Play till my thumbs bleed and go to bed. Then try to learn about all the other stuff the next day

- See, they ask him if they fall into a death trap, that's one round they are dead for, not the whole match, right? And he responds by saying one round, yeah. In other words, you only die for one round. He says it's not two out of three, meaning you only lose one round. That's what I got from it. The way its worded made me seem pretty confident you only lose one round. It doesn't make much logical sense, but this is Mortal Kombat we're talking here. If I understood it correctly, I'm very happy with it meaning you only lose 1 round. It would ruin the fight if you could win round one and lose the match by a lucky hit. So, if I understood it correctly, I think they are taking the right approach. Just my thoughts.

I'll admit its kinda shady that like u get kicked into chainsaws or lava or a pitbulls and then ur tip top shape again in the next round. Then again, in Deadly Alliance you could get a sword through your gullet and continue the fight + they weapon was gone the next round. Oh well, they're still an awesome idea

I agree with this interpretation. Only because If I just watched my opponent get ripped to bloody shreads to the point there is nothing left from that meat grinder. It would be kinda stupid if a new round in the same match begins and they are "all better" that's to far fetched even by MK Standards. We'll so though.

And yes I will definitely go through every stage available and sort out where all the death traps are and what they do.

It would be very stupid to get killed into some brutal thing and be all happy and alive in the second round.

That I really hated soul calibur 2. You throw someone into oblivion, but they still manage to fly back up and be alive.
