The mash-up will most likely be Kahn and Doomsday, but could like we be able to have them completely seperate as well as having them one character? So it'll be like you got Kahn, you got Doomsday and then you have the mash-up.

It's been confirmed that we will have a mash-up villain.

I'm fine with a mash up villain. I don't want boss characters playable either..

Why not? That won't take away from them being big and brutal. If they are not playable i'll be mad.

Well, I guess I'd be ok if they were SECRET characters, but even if they are unlockable..I dunno to me it just takes something away if you can play as a boss character. I wouldn't be surprised if they were playable, but I'm hoping that they aren't.

Playable versions of the individual characters might be a convenient compromise, leaving the merged villain to create some of the non-playable mystique people are looking for.

I remember, back when I was the only one suggesting that the final boss would be a merger between Shao Kahn and Darkseid, that I said exactly this and everyone jumped down my throat.

I could call bullshit, if it makes you feel more comfortable...

I'd rather we didn't get to play as the separate characters but it doesn't matter that much. If we do fine, if not, fine. It's a waste of character slots though.

Am I the only one here who hopes that the whole "mash-up" concept is simply a few people misconstruing the words of Jimmy Palmiotti? Really, Mick, or anybody, can you point to me, the exact time in the third podcast that ANYONE said that the final boss would be a "mash-up" of two villains?

He... said the word "mash up", I didn't just make that bit up when I posted the news lead about it. Also, look on the official website:
When a cataclysmic force merges conquerors from two universes, conflict is inevitable. Kombat forces friends to fight, worlds to collide, and unlikely alliances to be forged. In order to save all they know, the heroes and villains of Mortal Kombat must wage war against the combined might of the DC Universe (DCU). How can either side prevail when rage blinds them to the dark threat poised to destroy them all?
What does that tell you?

That's about as clear as mud. I'm still waiting on official confirmation. "Merge" could just mean that it brings them together, as allies. Anyways, if it is true, this better be good. I don't want some cheesy, anime storyline.

Christ, it better not be Onaga. He and Blaze are tied for my least MK favourite bosses.
I'm not overly fond of the "merged boss" concept, sounds kinda cheesy.
