I liked Mavado because he was basically the best new character from DA. I liked him alot better then Kenshi or any other. I know his special moves werent the best but I honestly fought very good with that guy. His Long Fist style was pretty good, he had strong attacks although his combos were few, if played right he would kick ass. And im sure you can all agree that he used his hookswords a hell of a lot better then that scarred freak Kabal, he had a combo with those hookswords that took 35% of life, and it was so easy to use. Im sure all of you can agree he seriously kicked ass with those hookswords, unlike Kabal right now. Anywho, Mavado should definetely come back, there shouldnt be a big deal about special moves, they suited him anyways, they were very unique, just because he cant teleport or throw a fireball doesnt mean his moves suck. Come to think of it, Mavado is and probably will always be the most realistic fighter of mk, no exagerated super human strength, or super abilities, just plain fighting and discipline, and call me old fashioned but thats something I always like.

I really hated Mavado, I hated his weapons and those ever so annoying red things that he jabbed out, I forget the name, and I don't like how he looks, his outfit, or fighting style, he just annoyed me so much, I always got really angry when I had to fight him in the tournament.

I hope Mavado is in a future MK game, I think he has potential and he was a cool character. I actually like the way he looks, he looks really cool; simple YET cool. wink

Mavado was definately the coolest character in DA, IMO. I was all for Mavado really killing off Kabal, because Mavado looks much cooler and the silent rise of the red dragon would be nice. I guess if they gave Hsu Hao a better costume, he could actually have a decent appearance; his moves weren't that bad anyway.
Oh well, Kabal's back with his new chump scout backpack and weird nomad's touch move. I think he should have a different stance for the hookswords, because he looks strange with that stance.

Really puts things into perspective, when a teenager pop singer turns out to be the re-incarnation of a german warlord.

I'll tell you what stances look strange.
There called long fist and wing chun, and they happen to belong to the filler character king Mavado.
btw i thought nomads touch was funny, but it would have suited a goofy character like mokap or bo rai cho more.
Mavado was one of my favorite characters from MKDA.
I liked his look, his fighting styles and his special moves.
The special moves needed to be used a lot better though. They could have done so much more with him.
I think that if he does come back, his ropes should be chains instead with a dragons paw at the end. And instead of being pulled by rubber bands, he would hop and yank on the chain to move like in MKDA.
He would have a lot of special move combos and throws. Similar to Ivy from SC2.
That's pretty much how he should use the ropes.
Basically, for slashing and long range hits.
He can also do some close range slash moves by just holding on to the claw part of the chain. Then do moves like Voldo from SC2. Use the claws like Katars.
Then he would be a real badass!

Oh heck yea.. since he doesn't have kabals hookswords anymore let him use those chains as a weapon. Mavado's ALTERNATE look was fresh, the red dragon story was pretty sweet too. (knowing that the black dragon is were former members of red dragon and are being hunted for their treason)
and they also started a story line of them hunting the lin K ninjas too.
I'd like to see in the next MK... no sub zero or scorpion but new members of the lin K, and the shirai ryu ninja clans. but unfortunately they are the Ken and Ryu of MK they'll likely be in ever MK from here on.
well getting back on topic, Mavado was the one character that I played after I got bored with everyone else and to my surprise I thought he was a great character, he just needs Boon and company to rethink how he could use those ropes / chains what have you to really become a confusing character to fight against. with NO RUBBER BAND EFFECT.
heres some moves that I thought up.
take down -- toss the grapple and when it connects he pulls you DOWN hard (wouldn't be like scorps hook because it shouldn't be thrown in a straight line it should grab them in the back and it would't set ya up for a free hit either)
On indoor arenas he could grapple the cieling and do a swinging kick.
and CHANGE the sound effects... and animate them more so he is PULLING on the ropes instead of rubber banding on em.
the floor swing around is pretty cool, in MKD that move would have been great for repositioning yourself to get away from death traps.

Also.
Mavado was possibly the only good thing about MK:DA, other than the fact that the game became semi 3D.
His core moveset was average at best, but he was just fun to play as.
I think the only thing i didn't like about him was his lack of worthwhile moves (something that can easily be corrected in the future) and the second or so when he defies gravity in his fatality (which would have otherwise been good).
And just to piss people off, i'm going to argue that Kabal ripped off Mavado by using the hookswords, because all Kabal used them for was elbows (I think) and a couple times in combos in MK3, whereas Mavado had a full (sort of) move list of hooksword attacks, many of which Kabal now uses.

Yeah it would. I just find it strange that the Red Dragon just "dissapeared" with the only mention of the Chamber of Artifacts in Kabal's bio. And there were no new members of the Red Dragon but a whole bunch of new members to the Black Dragon. Either Midway's due for a big surprise or they really dropped the ball on the Red Dragon-Black Dragon storyline.
Does anyone get the feeling that Mavado will return in a"different" way. I mean he was stabbed in the chest so I get the wierd feeling that he'll have Hsu Hao's implant or something similiar if he were to make a Komeback. But hey, resurrection never wears thin in MK.
