ok heres the thing, whatver day MK:D ships on doesn't matter, the street date for the game is the fifth, and therefore no store will ever put it out before the fifth for fear of lawsuitingess.
BTW I asked the owner of my EB this exact question this morning and that what she told me.

Dude all stores are different, even the same franchize, stores differ state to state, city to city.

Your right about being fined if you break street dates,but trust me it happens more then you think.Some cleark grt the game and just put them out by mistake a day or two early.Some will just sell it because they dont give a damn.Hell I brought Red Faction 2 3 weeks before it was due to come out.We had Fable a week and a half before it was due out trust me it happens.
You should try a big name store Target or Wal-Mart on the fourth.If the cleark look like they no nothing about video games ask them if they got MKD in they will check in the back and you may get it.I see it almost once a week or so it does happen.

what part aren't you getting....the fact of law is that one store can't release anything until the scheduled release date, it has something to do with the fairness of competition.
If one store puts a game on its shelves before the release date, they cna be fined upto and including $10000. So, they may actually get it on the 2nd or 3rd or whatever, they can't LEGALLY sell it until the fifth, which is the street date of MK:D.

What part don't you get I have done it and have seen others do it(I work in retail),it does happen MK1 broke street date all across the counrty if you remember.

You know that coupon they had online for Target, where you can get $10 off of the game? it says "VALID 10/6/04 - 10/25/04". Right above the UPC code it says that it's available in the store on 10-6, so I dunno what you all are talking about that Target will get it earlier. They MAY have changed it, but I'm going according to this coupon I printed out.

The SHIP date is the 4th. That's when MKD arrives in stores. Now, whether or not you can pick it up then depends on the store. Stores like Walmart or Toys R Us will more than likely NOT sell it to you until the 5th, the game's street date. However, some stores -- like my EB -- will notify you on the day when they anticipate the game will be arriving in stores. And if you reserved, will sell it to you then.

Toys R US Says The 1st

i work at walmart and were not getting it till the 7th of october,but my brother works at blockbuster and they are suppose to have them by friday, they always get games and movies earlier than street date but dont sell or let you rent them till the street date, so they are out and the reason why walmart is getting it later is all the games have to go to the local wharehouse of that walmart and to be put in the computer and finalized, thanks

Well, one thing's for sure. MKD will be out in early October. No later than the 9th from what I'm hearing from you guys. My local Gamestop said the 5th, so that's right about on time.
