Why would our first appearnence in a new game of a great character be first seen in a chess game?? Maybe puzzle kombat like how tanya was seen but not lui we'd atleast get sum gameplay footage or somthing. But all in good time all our questions will be answered

But before anyone gets too excited/irate about Kitana and Quan Chi, bear in mind that they were only in a Beta version. So far, that's all we've seen of them.
Anyway, getting to the point, Liu Kang has not been seen anywhere, let alone Chess Kombat. They're probably keeping his new appearance and role under wraps to surprise the fans.

The guy that you thought was Liu Kang in that trailer was Night Wolf. At first I thought I saw the back of Liu Kang's head but I relized that his skin is tan. I also seen the same character more over to the left side of the chess board and a caught a glimpse of the character's face. It is in fact Night Wolf. I don't think we are going to see Liu Kang untill the complete game is released to the public.
