I think I know why we haven't seen or heard of the Earth Heroes (Rayden, Kung, Sonya etc.) *MUST READ*

I think for the first time we might not see some of our favorite Earth heroes that include Rayden, Sonya, Johnny, Cyrax, Kung Lao, Bo Rai Cho etc.

Why? It all has to do with the story. Boon said that MKD starts very soon after MKDA. Which means MKD will probably revolve around the DK's rise to power, he wasn't born ruler of outworld he will become ruler of outworld by waging a war in outworld against Sindel, Kitana and even Shao Kahn.

This war in outworld has NOTHING to do with Earth, ergo, they can't get involved until the DK starts attacking Earth.

The reason we have seen SO MANY Outworld characters (Sindel, Ermac, Noob Saibot, Mileena, Baraka etc.) is because MKD is taking place in Outworld.

Scorpion is there because Quan Chi has not died.
Sub Zero is there because ???
Kabal is there for revenge against the Red Dragon
Night Wolf is there because ???
Kenshi is there because either Shang is still alive or it has something to do with Ermac.

There is still a chance we will see Rayden and whatnot, but I don't think Sonya and Jax will show their faces here with their boring stories. Mavado is VERY likely to be in this game. Shao Kahn will DEFINITELY re-appear in MKD, hopefully as a playable character. I don't think Quan Chi and Shang have died, if they are not in MKD that's probably because they are in hiding. Though Quan Chi will definitely re-appear cuz Scorpion wants his revenge.

EXCELLENT thread. This is what I have been trying to explain!

We wont see the main characters for Deception, but WE WILL in Mk7.

BUT NOT ONLY THAT. This game is all about "forgotten" or considered "lame" characters coming back to battle (Nightwolf, Sindel, Ermac, Noob???).

I dont think Kitana will return, buT i hope she does! smile

i like that story and i believe the reason y sub zero is in it is cuz hes the older brother sub zero back as a specter like scorpion. and i think he will put aside his differeces with scorpion and team up with him to take out quan chi. i think that could happen cuz chi did set them sub-zero up and used scorpion as a pawn in his plans. thats what i believe will happen

Personally I think the only reason characters like Kung Lao and Raiden haven't been announced yet at because they just...haven't been announced.

However Daemos, as usual your mind is working overtime and that's a good theory you have...I like it. However, with characters like Nightwolf coming back it makes it kind of difficult to validate that it will not involve Earthrealm. Also, Kung Lao is basically the main 'leader' character of Earth now...unless they finally pass that title to Sub-Zero. I'm sure Kung Lao will be announced as a returning character soon, probably along with Raiden, and maybe Fujin? But considering that they said only 10 of the returning characters will be classic, and we have

Sub-Zero
Scorpion
Nightwolf
Kabal (though I still take that as rumor)
Sindel
Mileena
Baraka
Ermac
Noob
....

That leaves only ONE more character for the 'classic' roster. If it isn't Sektor, I will honestly be VERY surprised, considering the story arc he got in MKTE. I think at this point its a toss-up between Kung Lao, Sektor, and Raiden.

Then again, we don't really know for sure until they make official annouincements. Lets see what happens between now and then.

Which is exactly why i think Rain will return with Sindel as her General fighting against the Dragon King.

Very good theory. Something we all overlooked is the fact that this Sub Zero in MKD not only does he not have the scar but he has "spectre eyes" just like Scorpion.

We will find out why Nightwolf is there in due time, I'm sure it's something important. Maybe he wants to close the Soulnado because it is disturbing the souls of his ancestors? :p

Very good ideas, but Kung Lao more than likely reappear considering he's the hero now, it isn't very logical to make him a key to the plot and then leave him out of the game is it?

Kung Lao is the hero of Earth not Outworld. He has no place in MKD even though I would like to see him back.
