I wonder how much space it took on the discs to actually create this game. Did Ed Boon have trouble with the limitations of the hardware he and his company worked on? I also hear that the game is only 20% done. There must be alot of pressure going on in the offices of Midway because the game is supposed to be released in October of this year.
What is the name of the engine they used to create the game? I know it's the same as Deadly Alliance's but how do they add in Death Traps with the character models? Is that hard to do? I have so many questions on that. I hope that in the finished version they add a video of how they added in all these features in only two years time.
my guess would be programming...
or sugar and farts, heh
either way it must be magic, ooooh
Alright, now that I'm done teasing. From what I've read, the game's engine is based off of the same engine used in MK:DA.
It doesn't have a "name" per say, it was created speficially for Mortal Kombat, via the great Ed Boon, and company.
The death traps were just additions. They were planning to have things like this available in MK:DA, if I remember reading those things correctly, they just didn't have time to.
They already had the plans, they just had to add them in place.
If you want a comparison, it's the visual equivelant of adding a red line on an image.
If you want it, draw it. Same with programming. If you want something in there, put it in.
The actual "how" is complex and deep. It'll require books, and plenty of them.
