strategy guide schmategy guide...i will be trying to figure out all the secrets on my own ( except the fatalities of course
)
maybe i would pick up the strategy guide after a few months of figuring things out on my own, just to make sure i gathered everything, and was aware of secrets...boon is awfuly mysterious.

I'll be getting one. It's become a tradition now that I get one with major game releases. MKDAs was the first one for MK I'd ever bought. So I'll be getting one for MKD.

are you going to try and figure things out for yourself? i think having the guide is cool for the artwork and how it breaks down the story and character plots, but i am slightly against the secrets that are revealed so soon to the gamer. I too will be getting one at some point, but just not right away

I'm gonna try to figure stuff out on my own, then maybe pick up a guide later.
You mean randomly pushing buttons in certain locations until you happen across stuff, that sort of thing? That's exactly the type of boring crap that drives me to buy strategy guides right off the bat. I'd rather just enjoy the game rather than beat my head against the proverbial brick wall.
If that whole head-brick wall thing is fun to some people, more power to them. For me, oh hell no.

for those of us with photographic memories, they are a must haha. nothing like memorizing all the combos on the car ride home after buying it before you even get to play it, muahaha.

I've NEVER once bought a strategy guide and never will! I am actually planning on figuring EVERYTHING out in Deception. Including moves and stuff. I will never pause the game to check to see what moves are or anything. I want it to feel like hardcore old school MK. Where you know absalutely nothing about it and have to either figure it out on your own or get told from someone else who has been playing. Deadly Alliance was killed for me because I knew everything too damn early. I want to be surprised a little in this game. OK! RAMBLE OVER!!!

I loved all the content in the MK:DA strategy guide. After two years i'm still going back to it for references. So i'll deffinately be getting the MK:D strategy guide... Anyone know roughly when it should be coming out?

No.
I'll just wait a couple of days until Gamefaqs.com has a walkthrough for it.

I'll get it before the game is even released. Thats how I am. I did it w/ MK4 and MK:DA. Its become tradition for me.

No!If you think about most guides have all the moves and combos,but does the game it self show you all the moves and combos.The only reason to get a guide is for the finishing moves and thats if they are in the MKD guide.I just think it takes some of the fun from the game I dont want to see everything the game hs to offer the first day I have it.I think that was the problem with MKDA,people were complaining that they got bored with it after the first week.Leave some hidden stuff to find out for yourself.I'm not saying you have to find out every fatality yourself but things like how to unlock hidden characters,a comlete walk through in konquest and every goodie in the krypt will kill some of the fun about the game.

Yes! However, I'll check for the Fatalities, but I'll unlock the characters myself!

Hahaah, exactly! I will be buying a guid for that reason as well. And yes it always easy to go to gamefaqs (hell i do that daily) but I'm also getting the guide for the artwork and the sad attempts at trivia in the back.
