If Raiden Returns
If Raiden Returns
If Raiden returns and has abandoned his status as and elder god should he still have his powers? I mean whats Raiden without his powers? But If abandoning your status as an elder god is an act "defiant to the other elder gods" then shouldnt there be a consequence. I also would like to see him more trim and lean but tall. Way more better outfits.

Raiden didn't become an Elder God until MK 4. After defeating Shinnok, he was rewarded with status as an Elder God. He had to choose a successor to over-look the Earthrealm and he decided on Fujin.
In Deadly Alliance Raiden learns of Quan Chi and Shang Tsung's plans and petitions the other Elder Gods to do something. They decide to do nothing, so Raiden gives up his title as Elder God (he says something to the effect that 'I can no long remain idly by' or whatever) and decides to take over his former position of protecting the Earthrealm, which he did in MK 1-4.
Oddly enough, there is no mention of Fujin really during the events of Deadly Alliance. Raiden appointed Fujin as Defender of Earthrealm at the end of MK 4 and yet Fujin does nothing to stop the Deadly Alliance... He's going to have some explaining to do in Deception.

If there were to be a consequence, maybe it would've happened in MKDA. It's only a title he has dropped and so I think he should definitely have his powers. He's come back as earth's protector despite appointing fujin to the job. We need to know where Fujin was in MKDA.
As for his costumes, I've liked everyone he has had since MK1. Hopefully they'll keep on making him look great.

He will still have his electric powers. Because as he says in Deadly Alliance, he is no longer an Elder God but is his still a Lightning god, or something along those lines.
I don't think he should have a punishment place upon him rather a reward, the other elder gods refused to do anything and he took it upon himself to act which shows he is commited to protecting earth and the other god's can learn something from him.

That would be the nice thing to happen. But this is Mortal Kombat and nice things don't happen too often. The Elder Gods might have been insulted by Raiden or have their own plans which Raiden is knowingly or unknowingly interfering with. IF the Elder Gods are truely the good guys, they would just leave Raiden alone. However, I am still wondering why they haven't done anything while their rules were being broken in the previous MK games.
Also, I like the idea of Raiden no longer being the supernice guy. He is still the leader of the good guys, but now he is angry.
I think Raiden will retain his orignal powers, otherwise he would be mortal. But I think the "elder gods" don't act because I don't think they are all that powerful.. considering only one nut ball shinnok was able to nearly destroy all of them, only to be beaten by a god of thunder and lightiing and a mortal????
Really though it's just the story, and the MK storyline is far from perfect, but that's why it's so fun.

I think the "consequence" of defying the elder gods is that he is no longer welcome to join their ranks. If the elders have any conscience, they will recognize that they have no right to punish Raiden for his compassion.

Perhaps the elder gods have alteriot motives......

I thought of an idea that after Deadly Alliance, Raiden might stay in Outworld helping to re-build Edenia, as Earthrealm has interior protectors like Sonya's Special Forces team, The Lin Kuei and the White Locus.
This could lead to Fujin returning in a hunt for Raiden, or as Protector of Earthrealm. This could also explain why there is a goddess looking woman in the game. They could either be hunting for Raiden, or be the new Protector of Earthrealm.

Well, why would they be taken away? the elder gods have no right to do this, as he has been and always will be the god of thunder. I dont think the elder gods would do squat about it anyway. they seem like a bunch of pussies to me to begin with.

I think the reason why Fujin wasn't in MK: DA was because he was probably in Earthrealm while the others fought in Outworld. Fujin might be in MK: Deception, you never know.
As for Raiden, his looks were always great in all the MK games but I think his own story needs a huge boost.

Mortal Kombat without Raiden is like a corn dog without Mustard... very bland!! He must have all his powers and maybe even more as a reward from the GODs for protecting the earth realm from the evil that would consume it; if it were not for him. Bring back his old powers from MK1 and MK2.

I want Rayden's old winning pose back in 3D.
I think it makes a huge difference having him raise his arms and seeing the lightning surge through his body. It's unique and adds to his GODliness.

I think there are some logical reasons as to why Fujin didn't appear during DA, and it all relates to Raiden.
For starters, Raiden voluntarily left his status as an Elder God because he saw the impending threat posed by the Deadly Alliance. The Elder Gods, if i'm not mistaken, have the ability to watch over ALL realms, and Raiden, knowing full well of the danger that Shang Tsung can pose, let alone Quan Chi, begged his fellow Elder Gods to intervene. Since they cannot intervene in the affairs of mortals, Raiden decided to rescend his status and take a mortal form again to lead the Earth warrior into Outworld.
Enter Fujin, Protector of Earthrealm. As its protector, Fujin cannot leave Earth. He needed to stay behind in order to watch over Earthrealm. In the event that Raiden and his chosen group of warriors failed, Fujin would have to be there to protect Earth. Raiden chose those warriors whom he had worked closest with in the past...Sub-Zero, Sonya, Kung-Lao, etc...presumably, warriors like Nightwolf, who had defended Earth in the past, could come at Fujin's call if the battle in Outworld failed.
So in DA, Raiden did the same thing he did in MK2: He took the form of a mortal, risking his own existence, to enter Outworld and fight for Earth. Fujin wasn't absent or betraying, he was doing his duty. Somehow, I think we will see the return of Fujin. Its just my theory, but the fact that we're seeing MK3 warriors return, coincidentally, the battle may be split between Earth and Outworld now...

What if the Earth Warriors in DA failed, or were about to fail. When the DA smells victory, enter the Dragon King taking out one half of the Deadly Alliance, most like Shang Tsung. Then The Dragon King and Quan Chi would lead an assault into Earth realm to deliver the final blow to Earth. ?? Does that sound too cheesy?
Well, nothing did actually say (so far is MKD) that any characters actually suceeded in deafting the deadly alliance so it's plausable.
I do agree with the fact that Fujin would have had to stay behind. Raiden without an confines to a specific realm would become free roaming basically, which would explain why he went into outworld.
What would be sorta interesting if the game in fact did take place in both realms, maybe the portal from MKII could make a return?

How about Edenia also. The DKs army is supposidly invincible, so i dont think ther would be a problem if he split his forces into mulitple factions.......bad news for good guys.....

I don't think radin should be playible in this one. Have him go back to elder god, and let Fujin replase him for now. And at the end Fujin dies a hero, evaryone is sad, and Radin returns
