Good ideas Tom, Shang is my favorite character. He was at his best in MK2 imo.

Thanks MaxDam. I agree Shang was definitely at his best in MK2, though he was a force to contend with in MKDA as well (so damn fast, especially while in crane!)...but MK2's version of Shang Owns all other Shangs!

Meta: LOL...I wonder if they truly know as well! But your theory seems pretty solid. He can take the Physical form of people, but not have their power or knowledge until he has absorbed their soul...Seems very likely to me.

I think this would work especially well with online play. "Create your own Shang Tsung" so to speak. What I like most about this idea is that it gives his soul steal a new purpose, and a nice twist.

But if this were to be the case, Shang Tsung would have to be given a lot of his own signature moves and combos. I don't want to him to be subpar or anything.

Thanks Temp. And your right about this giving the Soul Steal a better purpose...actually making it worth it to use, even if you are sick of seeing it lol. And I agree...Shang should definitely have all of his moves back.

I have an idea......instead of giving Shang all the morphs of everybody in the game they should give him a secret morph where he could turn into his demon form and have a couple different special moves. That would be kind of cool IMO.

I've awaited his demon form since it was first announced during the making of MK2. In MKDA, I was hoping, well like everybody else, at least 2 fatalities per person and his 1st would be his soul steal and his 2nd, his demon form kinda of fatality.
I also like your idea of him morphing into his true form giving him more power. That would make a kickass subboss lol. 1st Round, he must be defeated in his human form and after his demon form. Just ideas.

Thanks, Tazzer! What you said is exactly what I mean. Just choosing the styles and moves you want from the characters whose souls you've taken before the match saves a lot of problems in battle. In vs matches you can just do this from the select screen and have an uninteruppted match.

I'd love to see shangs demon form in the game! I think it should have been the in the series a long time ago! It would be cool to play as! You'd have some really powerful attacks, but would probably be slower or faster depending on his size. I think it'd be great as a power booster, but you'd only be able to transform maybe once a round or there'd be some other limit to it.

I REALLY like this. His demon form up till now has only been hinted at...He has never morphed into it....I think giving him the ability to do so, as well as giving him a different moveset while in this form is an amazing idea and has massive sub-boss possiblities as pointed out by MaxDam.
