I'd go with Noob and Reptile but I want them separate.

Smoke and Ermac are the best, character wise.

This is an interesting question. I would have to agree wholeheartedly with Crow, the MK team has done a much better job with Ermac and Smoke as a whole than Noob & Reptile. However, I would consider Chameleon simply because of his abilities. He almost fits this game in a backwards sort of way.

But Noob and Reptile have so much potential. Just look at Reptile's showing in MKSM. He has plenty of moves from the past that can be brought back to make a great character, just like Sonya. The only problem is they've been neglecting that and giving him one or two crappy moves. Stop nerfing him already. As for Noob, anybody with a little imagination can make a truly diabolical and formidable kombatant out of him.

I agree with M0s, ~Crow~ and many others in here that said Ermac and Smoke. They're just overall better characters, cooler powers, backstory and have tons of future potential in MK.

Reptile is been there, done there...still Kahn's bitch for the most part trying to free his realm, blah, blah and failing constantly lol.

Noob just got some what interesting with his MKD story I admit, but IMO not quite as good as Ermac or Smoke. Smoke needs to also stop being peoples' "bitch" or "pawn" I love smoke but damn, let the character decide for himself for once lol

Bad writers is no reason to hate good characters.

Ermac and Smoke are my two favorite characters, so I'll go with them. But if I could only have one, I'd pick Smoke. Preferably Human Smoke, but the MKteam flushed him down the john awhile ago. Sadly, the chances of Smoke in the game are thining. But I have my reasons to believe Ermac will return for this game.

They're not bad writers just because some fans don't happen to like characters that most fans enjoy. That's just matter of opinion but overall I like the work Vogel and Tobias have done over the years(tobias obviously not for a while since he left, and now is back)

I'd like Ermac to sort of teach Reptile the same thing Kenshi taught him, not to serve Shao kahn anymore and to serve yourself, so they could both become a team.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up Reptile's entire story.

Agreed, Noob did become somewhat...well a lot more interesting with his new MK:D story twists, however, in my eyes, Ermac and Smoke both outweigh him character wise and story wise.

I'd really like to see Ermac's leadership role explored and developed in the future. I enjoyed what they did with him in Deception giving him a MK:DA Sub-Zero like role.

For Smoke, they really need to release him from that shell he's been in since MK3. I've always had the thought that if Smoke had his consciousness, he'd be able to, in theory, dematerialize into pure smoke and re-materialize into what he was before, 100% human. Thus leaving his cybernetic shell behind for Noob or Sektor to use at their own will.

Reptile has effectively sucked since MK4, because his stale "I'll be your bitch if you save my world" angle was already growing tired and it hasn't changed since. Now, one could argue that Smoke is along those same lines, but anyone can see that Smoke wants to act on his own but can't, as he still has yet to escape his robotic coil. I will say that Noob has gotten better with him being the elder Sub-Zero, but aside from that his moves, fatality (from MKD), and the fact that his particular plot twist had been speculated since MK4 (thus making it semi-predictable) makes him not much better than Reptile. I'm not saying that they can't be helped, but I am saying that in the sense that this game won't make any sense in the storyline, it comes down to who's more relevant right now, and it's Ermac (fresh start in MKD) and Smoke (still a fan favorite after all these years).
