It looks like Kung Lao has been going on a crash diet with that face, Liu Kang's hairdo is weird, and I don't like Sonya's look at all. The only one that looks good is Raiden.

You guys are putting too much emphasize on the looks. The gameplay is what matters. There has been tons of games where the characters look good but the game sucked overall. From what I've seen, the gameplay looks awesome. Can't wait for this game to come out.

Ugly. Kung Lao looks like the Rock for crying out loud, only thing he's missing is the raised eyebrow.

Those characters look like they went through hell... which is fitting because they DID go through hell and I say they look excellent, that is exactly what I expected the characters to look like after risking their lives in an evil tournament then told "Oh, you gotta do it AGAIN". Excellent, I love the MKSM look.

I always knew that Kung Lao was envious of Liu Kang. It was Kung Lao who is a direct descendant of the original, but it was Liu Kang who honored his anscestor's name in the Mortal Kombat tournament.

Goro killed the original Kung Lao in a previous Mortal Kombat tournament, and it was Liu Kang who defeated Goro and avenged the original Kung Lao's death in the Mortal Kombat. Kung Lao must have been pissed when he heard of that news, and even more so when he knew that Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung and forced him to flee into Outworld.

Now, Kung Lao sees all of these people praising Liu Kang over what he did, characters like Sonya and Johnny Cage look to him as a hero and so do the other Shaolin Monks. Kung Lao was given the birth right and name of Kung Lao but it was Liu Kang who stole his chance to honor his anscestor during Mortal Kombat.

Also, the Shaolin Temples were attacked during Mortal Kombat 2. I always thought that Kung Lao blamed Liu Kang for leading the Tarkata to the sacred temples and them killing off many Shaolin Monks.

Well, I had always been under the impression that Kung Lao didn't want to take part in the fight against Outworld until the Shaolin Temples were attacked after Liu Kang won the tournament. And in the official MKII comic by John Tobias, Liu Kang accused Kung Lao of leaving the Order of Light when they needed him most before Kung Lao promised him that he would fight at his side when the battle against Outworld continues. I never once got the impression that Kung Lao was jealous of Liu Kang's victory in Mortal Kombat. I think that was a story element they added on for this game because they thought it'd be more interesting. I don't know. In the previous games it seemed like they were making Kung Lao out to be a peaceful monk that only fought when he had to. But since they never went into detail about that, it was open to change if they wanted. In MKSM, I get the impression Kung Lao was ready to fight from the beginning. I don't know, I think I like how the story played out in the official comic better, Liu Kang meeting Kung Lao at the temple and all. But this seems cool too. I think they just adjusted the story to how MKSM plays out in the beginning, making it less complex and having it easily leading straight into gameplay.

wtf? all the characters look fucking awesome! and if u don't like the costumes, hair, or whatever else...it doesn't matter because it's going to be the best game ever! Who cares if Kung Lao has a ponytail or not? I don't find anything wrong in the voice acting and anyway... And even if Kung Lao is jealous, it's what most brothers do. He got over it... he was sad in DA when Liu Kang died and if he didn't get over it, he would have gotten out a champaign bottle out and celebrated. It's the gameplay that really matters.

The thing is, they changed the costumes and imo thats bad they should have MK1-MK2 looks going from one costume to the other , not put any look in anyone , johnny liu an raiden have mk2 costumes in mk1???? but thats ok i like the old SIMPLE costumes they should do them in 3D

Kung Lao doesnt really lookk great in this game. They shouldve just kept his same look in Deadly Alliance. Grrrrrrr no fair lol
