The same render, different background! I think that it's the proof that Raiden doesn't appears in MKDeception, because Raiden dies in the MKDeception Intro...

They look really good, and Scorpion looks great! But as illusion said, Raiden has the same outfit as in MKDA. I thought in the bio, the actual bio from the game (where Raiden is rotating) he had a different outfit...

I agree ... I must say Raiden's nearly identical look is quite disheartening. My theory is that he is not in the game, but rather a character in the intro.

Raiden was revolving with the same outfit without the cape he wore in MK:DA. I really want Raiden to have a complete new look like Sub-Zero has done.

I think the same, and the look of the bios, must be as Raiden appears in the intro.

As for Raiden, I think he will be playable but looking just like in MKDA.

Hello, how much did Raiden change in five games he was playable in? MK1 all white with a funny hat, MK2 white outfit, light-blue over tunic, and funny hat, MKT white outfint with dark-blue over tunic, MK4 white outfit, blue overtunic withsome writing, and a funny hat. The biggest change he ever had was in MK:DA, white outfit, green over tunic, bronze (?) armor, bronze (?) funny hat. But of course this does not mention his alt. outfit from MK:DA which was a BIG surprise to me when I saw it the first time. Raiden is just one of those characters that does not change much appearence wise. Who knows, maybe his alt outfit will be as different as it was in MK:DA. After all how many of us would actually be able to tell that it was the thundergod without the funny hat and white outfit. It so much of him, we argued over whether or not it was him when we first saw Ashra (or is it Ashrah?)

My only question and concern is, why have an offical wallpaper out and only one of five so far that would include a character that is supposely killed off in the intro? Did we get one (or similiar) for Liu Kang while waiting for MK:DA? Someone tell me please, because I didn't have a PC at the time.

I'm hoping and praying to the little gods of technology that this means that perhaps if he does 'die' he is resurrected a la Johnny Cage style by the Elder Gods to lead the mortals as a mortal against the DK. Being resurrected as a mortal could be a punishment for defying the Elder Gods or a means to prove himself as truely worthy to return to his place among them. Or the old cliche' 'you like them so much, live as one of them.'

Even if Raiden's outfit hadn't changed one bit between MKDA and MKD - which I VERY much doubt, if he were to be playable - they wouldn't use the EXACT SAME promotional render. While it doesn't necessarily have to mean anything, keep in mind that pretty much the only time anyone's kept the exact same outfit in a sequel is when they're not playable (Sonya, Kano, Liu Kang). I don't remember off-hand how Kitana and Mileena looked in MKG, but they could be the one exception...
That, combined with the fact that it's been hinted both in the bio vid from IGN, and people claiming to have inside info, that Raiden dies at the beginning of MKD... I just find it too unlikely that he's playable.


The wallpapers are cool, but I'm very disappointed about their resolution. Not only are they tiny, but they have a very weird resolution - Who ever heard about anyone using 800x640?! I'd expected at least 1024x768, but I would prefer it if they were 1600x1200 (the screen resolution I use). I'd probbaly use the Scorpion one if they weren't so small. :/

This is boring news, but I guess I shall use the Sub Zero one. The wallpapers look pretty cool.

Sorry but people perfer to have them in there default sizes or give them choices on which sizes to choose from. 1024x768 is pretty much standard nowadays. i dont know why they put them here at mko in the first place they should place them at the mk deception and give people options on what sizes to choose from. which all do with respect to midway and all, i think they drop ball on this one by giving us a 800x600 wallpaper. i think all the wallpapers kick ass Scorpion One Rocks except the raiden one the just plain awful and that's plain givin that raiden going to die in mkd. the only thing im dissapointed in midway is the default sizes 800x600? common now! And the awful looking raiden wallpaper
