I liked the return of Mortal Kombat that we were presented with in Deadly Alliance, but I did have some criticisms, and things I hope the design team has improved for MK:Deception. Almost all of my criticism is directed toward the fighting system. I liked the ideas and the basic flow of things, but I was expecting QUITE a larger number of moves, both normal and special ones. The individual systems of combat were not realized to the potential they could have been when you consider the competition that's out there, namely the Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive series'. There simply wasn't enough depth to each individual style, in particular Mavado's Wing Chun and Longfist felt very stifled and limited, and Reptile's Hung Gar was certainly restrained considering how rich the system actually is. Each style for every character needed at least twice as many commands as the ones we were given, this would provide some true depth to a game poised to take back the fighting game crown. Other criticisms include the usual and already confirmed to have been rectified complaints about the lack of multiple fatalities and limited arena interactivity, as well as some shoddy animation here and there (Cage's flipkick for instance, or Sonja's flying kick). But all in all it was an admirable re-entry into the market for Boon and his team and I like the changes I've read about so far regarding the quest mode and the online play component. I just hope they really nitpick the details of the fighting now that they have a good framework to improve upon. More moves, more costumes, more characters, more ninjas, more secrets, more fatalities and more of everything that made Mortal Kombat so recognizable in the genre: style. p.s. More people to motion capture from; it would make the movements more unique and there is a hell of a lot of martial artists out there to draw on. Thankyou for reading this if you got this far, any comments or further suggestions?
Pal, I couldn't agree more. If they will make fighting system ( this means more moves, diffrent combo system - SC2 and throwing sistem-T4,VF4 )much better than MKD will be masterpiece in fighting genre. We know that animation will be better, there will be a lot od secrets but the most inportant thing is fighting engine. We don't need blood, fatalities and all secrets if fighting isn't on the same level as all modern 3D fighters.

thank you. im tired of this " they better bring back (character) and add more blood and fatalities, cauuse if they do, it will be the best fighting game ever." when will people learn its not fatalities and gore that make a fighting game, its the fighting its self (im not saying i dont want those other things though)
