The French word for "deception" is probably also deception.
In Portuguese the direct translation is "decepção" which means both deception and disappointment.
Latin languages have these sorts of stuff... hehe

When "Deadly Alliance" came out in France, the subtitle didn't changed...i'm just wondering if "deception" is a good name for France because it could discredit the game.

In Spain happens the same.

I doubt that in Spain, the game called "Mortal Kombat: Engaño (Deception in Spanish)", and deception is looked like decepción (dissapointment)..... but I prefer MK: Deception than the rumoured MK: Mystification

This could possibly be the problems with the name that caused the rumour on the front page....

I think it's something else, but well, you never know.

I don't think that's possible. The biggest market in Europe is probably the UK and Germany and that's not a problem there. It's a problem in latin countries (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Romania) which are not as big as UK or Germany - in the case of Portugal, Romania and Italy the market is probably extremely small.
