God, let's hope not. Kira has the potential to be one of the most original new character's we've seen in a long time. I swear to God if I find that she's got a laser somewhere on her body, I'm gonna flip out. *In his anger and frustration, he runs out on October 4th and buys the game anyway*

Im just pointing it out, to me it would be a good thing since I can use Kano very well, and since it doesnt look like Kano is returning, Kira will already be a character that I have mastered.

I'd rather she have her own unique movesets and attacks, but knowing Midway......

Well so far her weapons are different but look to have one move for them that Kano has, that double spin attack.

Also she has his one fighting style it seems. If her second fighting style is new, along with most of the weapon style and her moves are unique then she will be different enough from Kano to be her own self.

She looks very kool so far, hopefully she is different enough from Kano.

Also watch out for laser breasts, sorta like a Killer Instinct fatality.lol

Personally, I reckon that Kira will become her own character, and by that I mean that she may have one or two moves taken from Kano, and maybe even one of his styles, but she won't have all of Kano's moves or all of his styles. She doesn't even have the same weapon. I think she'll have mainly original moves. Don't worry: she isn't the next Jarek.

I think it's pretty obvious that she'll be a Kano clone. Just look at the screenshots. The screenshot of her executing what seems like a blade-uppercut move was in fact Kano's in MKDA. On the PS2, if you go into his butterfly (weapon) stance and press away + triangle (upward circling sword), you perform that move.
As for the other screenshot of Kira (the one where she's giving a back kick towards her opponent), well that's Kano's move too. On the PS2 you can perform that move by pressing away + circle (hopping back kick) under his Xing Yi stance.
Well I wont be surprised if Kira did have a laser and heart rip fatality. But let's hope I'm wrong!!!

People, just because she has one attack of Kano's and most likely 1 style of Kano's, DOESN'T make her a Kano clone. Hell, I believe Hsu Hao also had that move, but nobody called him a Kano clone did they?

I dont think Kira will be a Kano clone in term of moves,I think they'll give her similar moves but alter them. I think the danger now is the fighting styles. Theyr are likely to give her Kanos if he doesnt appear in the game, and because of the fighting styles, characters are likely to feel similar to one another. But lets hope she isnt too similar to Kano/Jarek.

I don't think she will be a direct clone. the new pic shows her using the Hopping Back Kick from Xing Yi. Remember that she is apart of the Black Dragon clan, as is Kano and Jarek. Maybe the techniques and styles they share are all trademarks of their clan. Mavado may not be the only Red Dragon member to know wing Chun for instance.

Anyway, even if she has Kanos styles, there will be new moves added to them. Plus, I don't think she'll have Aikido. And I highly doubt they will give her the Cannon Ball or any other special moves of Kano's. She'll have her own unique specials.

I noticed the exact same thing. But just because she has some similarities to Kano - even if those similarities are complete fighting styles - doesn't necessarily mean she'll be a clone. There are still special moves and fatalities to consider. It could very well be that Midway purposefully leaked those pics to start this debate. (Yeah, I'm starting to getting paranoid now...)

i liked Kano in DA, IMO he was a pretty cool character in the series (how can you not like an infra-red eye that doubles as a freakin laser?). It looks like Kano's not in Deception, so Kira being a move thief doesn't seem so bad to me... and while I agree that giving Jarek Kano's fatal when he clearly doesn't have a laser eye implant was ridiculous, but if they're not putting Kano in, there should be someone who keeps that attack/fatality... it's a classic (actually Kano's heart rip is a true classic, but still...)

Well is it just me or if you look closely to Kira's eyes they are Red!? I wonder if that has to do anything with laser, hhmm??

I hope Kira is not a Kano clone. I thought that Kano and Jarek were the last two members of the Black Dragon clan.

If Kano had died at the hands of Mavado, the Black Dragon should die with him. I would be very disapointed if Kira returns because Kano is dead.

If Kano is in this game, then I don't mind if Kira has some of his special moves. If Kano is not in this game, and if Midway tries to pass on Kano's legacy to Kira then it would be a shame.

Kano would never finish his rivalry with Sonya Blade, and Kano would have never reuinited with another Black Dragon clan member.

Mortal Kombat has done this kind of thing before with the same character. Jarek was a huge disapointment to Kano fans, I hope that if Kira is going to be an original character with her own special moves and unique fighting styles.
