Dude, don't get me wrong, I agree with you! I do. But it just feels like the new MK games lack the old MK feel. We all hated pallete swaps, but pallete swaps are what made MK waht it was back in the day. Like, I just don't like the turn some characters took, like Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The mystery factor that they had in MK1 and 2 have completely dissapeared, and I don't think that it's the fault of MKM:SZ. Sub Zero used to be like the mysterious rogue-ish warrior. And then he was on the run from the Lin Kuei, but now he's the big chief, and it almost feels like since HE is the leader, why does HE do any fighting at all? Now, desperate pallete swaps are a bad idea, but if you got two guys from the Lin Kuei and LK has a uniform code, then I can see two characters having exact same outfits.

I have pre-ordered MKD, and I'm gonna enjoy it very very much, but I think that it lost the same MK feel that the classics had. And no matter how many sequels and how great a story lines, nothing will replace the value MK1, 2 and even MK3-T have, to me. MK4 was crap I admit, but all they needed was a little Mokap.

I'm sorry, but John Tobias made the biggest mistake of his life when he left Midway to produce "his own work". Tao Feng was the worst fighting game I have played in a long time. I didn't even care if it ripped off Mortal Kombat, it just had no flow whatsoever.

Then again, if Tobias stayed, we would have every colorful ninja of the rainbow.

In my day mortal kombat only ahd Half Dragons, Straw Hat wearing Gods, Centaurs, Ninja Ghosts, Ice Men, Cyber-Ninja's , Soul Sucking Magicians, Half Man Half Reptile Kunf fu Ninja's, Noamdic Warriors with blades in their arms, interdemensional portals, army guys, resurections, ice weilding ninja's, shadow men, living forests, unknown secluded islands with large spiked pits and mass disappearances that nobody questioned, Clones, Men with Laser Eye Implants and Chicks with Rocky Horror Pciture show hair. But Vampires? !??? No way. We knew where to draw the line. There wern;t any vampires in MK and we were proud of it. We didn;t want anything as acrhetypally fantasy as that.

But enough about that, back to the topic at hand; I think Midway is better off without Tobias. The continuity errors and unanswered questions that plagued the storyline seem to be things of the past.

The topic is about how the later MK games, AKA MKDA, and MKD... Man, this is acronym hell. Anyway, it's about how the later MK installments don't have the same feel as the classics.

I hate to say it, but you couldn't be wronger.

We played MKDA, and we had our complaints.

We wanted Stage fatalities back. We got them.

We wanted Ermac, Smoke, and Kabal back, among others. We got them.

For the longest time, MK fans wanted the ability to have a character take their own life. We finally got it.

Midway DO listen to their fans. MKOnline, being the net's primary MK-fan community, is as close as we get to a direct line to Midway concerning the future of MK.

I agree with the fact that if Tobias stayed, MK would have gotten krappier & krappier. Here's how MKDA would've been:
All of the new characters wouldn't have existed.
Ermac & Rain would look identical to Scorpion.
Noob Saibot would change to Saibot Noob (Tobias wants power!!!)
They'd make maybe 5 more Kitana klones.

However, lets look at the few things that Boon f'kd up:
Noob Smoke as a boss of MKD.
Poor graphically equivalent Konquest.
Noob's half having "Monkey" as a fighting style.
Hsu Hao.
Reptile's de-volution to iguana.
That's all I can think up...

Now for his recent good ideas:

Darrius
Ashrah
[Insert new kharacter in MKD here]
Return of Stage Fatalities
A cool not fatality! (as kompared to fartalities, wait...Bo'Rai Cho has it...doh!)
