No possibility. That is Smoke. Not only does 99% of the evidence point to Smoke, but inside sources have confirmed it's him. They've been saing he would be a ninja comprised of Smoke since march, and to say they were wrong after seeing this character would be absurd.

It is Smoke, and he is ethereal. He is most likely similar in form to that one demon samurai in the XBox Ninja Gaiden, the one who's mostly magical flame. His 'body' is living smoke, but he's able to condense it enough to hold a humanoid form inside a similarly-shaped object (ie, his costumes).

As for Chameleon, he was just fodder for the Trilogy games. Now, Khameleon, she's more likely to come around, due to her ties story-wise to Reptile, and Reptile's subsequent metamorphosis into the Dragon King.

And, for crying out loud, Smoke is not transparent! He's translucent. There's a difference...

But seriously though, it IS Smoke! Now, I tried taking a close look at that symbol on his boot and I don't think it's the Brotherhood of the Shadow symbol. Even though it kind of looks like it, I doubt it is. It's gotta be Smoke and I must say, he looks awesome!

If it's Chameleon, then how come he isn't looking like Reptile in DA, all reptilian and stuff? Midway would not bring back Chameleon, he was a counterfeit secret character that wasn't worth anything.

Well...the thing is that Chameleon never actually had a storyline...I wouldn't want him to return anyway since he was basically a nobody.

But anyway, I still believe that the transparent guy is Smoke. I'm pretty sure of it.

Though I think its Smoke, I think people's argument that Chameleon can never return is downright stupid just because he was a filler with no original moves, fatalities, or story. You guys all forget that a lot of characters started out like Chameleon.

In Mortal Kombat 1 name me 1 original move or fatality that Reptile had, heck find me a storyline or any evidence that he was apart of the storyline. Now look, our Reptile may have one of the biggest role in the Mortal Kombat story. FACT: Reptile started out just like Chameleon, a copycat.

Now in Mortal Kombat 2, name me 1 original move or fatality that Jade, Smoke, or Noob Saibot had. They had nothing, Smoke and Noob Saibot was a copy of Scorpion, heck the look is pretty much the same save the color. None has a storyline either. Looks like to me that they are pretty much exactly like Chameleon. FACT: Jade, Smoke, and Noob Saibot started out like Chameleon.

Now we will skip MK3 because Chameleon is the Reptile, Jade, Smoke, and Noob Saibot of MK3. No storyline, no original moves, nothing except a name and a slightly different look.

This arguement could also work for Meat in MK4 since Meat was a copycat with no official moves, but those that go off the reason that there is no way characters such as Chameleon and Meat could return based off no story, original moves or fatalities need to reexamine the past Mortal Kombat video games and come up with better reasons on why Chameleon or Meat could not return.

But to reiiterate the original topic I do believe that the picture is Smoke, Smoke has already been announced, and that is more evidence to suggest it more likely Smoke than Chameleon.

Noob, smoke & jade were all filler characters as well. They never had their own moves nor look, yet they are all their own characters with their own look, moves and weapons. And to that person that said that ch/khameleon had to be like MKDA reptile, that is just a stupid statement! Reptile de-evolved for certain reasons. It's not a normal thing!! Other reptilian creatures would simply evolve!! duh!

Ch/Khameleon can come back as it's own character. And the creator of this thread could possibly right.

I'm a believer of it being smoke because it has been confirmed that smoke is in the game.

However i just disagree with those people stating the ch/khameleon cannot ever come back!
