Kabal?

I could potentially see Kabal being in. His moves and indeed his attitude (well...his MK3 persona) fit pretty well. He's also reasonably popular to an extent.

Kabal is a unique character, he must be in the game.

I'd agree with that. Kabal being in the game would be great!

You know seeing this ending makes me kind of pissed off about what they did to him in Deception and Armageddon and reforming the Black Dragon. Being a bad-ass lone vigilante was always cooler in my opinion.
If they made him like his MK3 persona he'd fit amongst the DC characters especially among Batman. However his speed could possibly give make him a good rival for the Flash...even though the Flash is much faster.

kabal is one of my all time faveourites but in all honesty the chances of him making it are very slim - which is a big shame.
I reckon he would suit mkvsdc perfectly, but at the end of the day its whether the mk team favour him more than others. I just hope no characters MK4+ make it into mkvsdc. none of those characters deserve a spot.

I would definitely say Kabal is one of the definitive MK characters, as he represents the (U)MK3 era so well. Still, the trend is to use mostly MK1&2 characters for every "restart" of the series, so I don't think we'll be seeing him.
Then again, does Kabal have a DC counterpart?

Moves wise he can be compared to The Flash, even though he only has one move similar to the flash's ability.
If they allow V from V For Vendetta, than that could also be his, because they both have burnt faces

V from Vendetta is not going to be in it lol.

I'm sure that most of the roster of the MK characters will be the ones that had attended MK 1.That is my hypothesis at the moment, although there are many other figures that will deal with the final roster.
Kabal is an excellent character, but as many others have said;his chances are very slim.

Although this scenario is very plausible, I hope this is not the case. Using most of the MK1 cast for MKDA just made the roster generic.
Also, The_Truth, I TOTALLY agree with you about the turn in Kabal's story. One reason I loved Kabal so much was because he was a reformed criminal: through suffering, he discovered empathy. Turning him into a priest of chaos was just inconsistent and lame.
I’d like to see him return, before the MK/DC stuff came about, I kept thinking if he returned, how much of a freak he would look like with the new engine.
Hmm, I do wonder if they’ll try to take one from each generation.
For me at least, these are the defining new characters of each game.
MK3 - Kabal
MK4 - Quan Chi
MKDA - Kenshi
MKD - Hotaru or Havik
I'm still on the fence with who I think they're going to choose.

If the twenty character roster comes true, then there is a very small chance he'll make it. I think the last villain spot will be a huge toss up amongst the other minor villains in the series. I think Reptile, Baraka, Noob or Mileena are better canidates imo

Exactly,I hope that it isn't the case either.Knowing Midway,it seems that it's logical for them to consider the MK1 characters "Iconic".I'm going to make an educated guess, and chances say that there is a very slight chance of Kabal being included.
This may be the scenario, althought there is much to take into consideration for the factors of which will indicate the final roster.
