The guy had a lot of potential, I'd love to see him again.

No one knows what happened to Kai, since his ending in MK4 didn't happen.

The only reason why people say it didn't happen is because in Kai's ending, Raiden gave him his Lightning Staff, while in MK:DA, Raiden still had a staff with him as his weapon fighting style.

Since Kai's ending only contradicts the other endings and the stories for MK:DA on that part, I'm inclined to believe that Kai's ending happened.

So, here's what happened, regardless: Kai is praised by Raiden for his part in the war against Shinnok, but when asked, Kai tells the Thunder God that he's decided not to return with Kung Lao and Liu Kang, deciding to wander the Earth, do some soul searching, etc. Raiden accepts that and gives Kai his Lighning Staff (he got another one in Deadly Alliance), telling the former Shaolin monk that, if used properly and with the right mind, it could show him the path to immortality.

Kai is my favorite fighter from MK4, I really wish he would come back.


There are a lot of ways to improve on his powers to make them more useful. I think if he came back he would be my favorite fighter.

The sketch in the krypt was bad ass too, that's a perfect look for him.

the Forces of good needs Kai badly in mk 6

I thought Kai was a great character, and I used him in MK4 quite a lot. I think he has a lot of potential, especially now since he missed MK:DA. We could find out what happened to him, and it gives the producers a way to connect him with new and old charcters trhough his travels.

Theres a concept of Kai in the krypt in DA? Really whats the two letters in the krypt where he is.. cuz i havent seen it

I think he'll be amongst the Prison Stage characters, which will prob. be hidden like Jade is!

I wonder if his Walk-on-Hands move will now be an actual stance (fighting style)?

People don't like Kai. Why? He looks like a monkey with zebra stripes. He's goofy. His moves are uninspired. He shoots cliche fireballs. His story was weak. People don't like Kai.

it would be awesome if kai came back in mkd! he had alot of room to grow! and he still does! with liu kangs return maybe him and kung lao and bo rai cho can try and get liu kang his body back!

I'm amazed that so many like Kai. Most of the time people see MK4 as a failure. And the top reason usually given is the bad story and character design. Kai is usually at the top of the list in lame characters from MK4.
