I think Li Mei was a filler character, without much return potential. Her storyline wasn't very developed at all, although I suppose it could be, and she just didn't have anything special about her IMO.

I think Li Mei is the least attractive girl in MKDA. And hot female characters in fighting games are just a cheap way of getting horny guys to buy them, and IMO kinda cheapen the whole game.

I do think that Li mei's ending might be true and her goal is to get into her old body back.

I like Li Mei, but I think that her ending will happen. She doesn't come back in the next MK.

I hope that they will replace Li Mei for Mileena. It will be great to see the evil woman fight with the Sai of Li Mei.

I didn't like Li mei that much. I also hope she doesn't come back. 1 reason why I disliked Li mei was that she to lame to trust qaun and shang -_-. If she does come back in MK6 I hope to is more of a bad girl. To me she was just too girlish, some kid just tring to save her village( even sonya ,frost Kitana have a bad ass edge storyline and attuide) and to be in a MK torney every one else seemed like that had a real mission. Li mei mission was like win MK and free my people thus allowing Shang and Quan to rule many relems. I was like please she was so thought less when she agreed to halp the deadly allanice. I hope Jade comes back for MK6. Jade was so so cool in UMK3 and MKT

I thought Li Mei was ok, i could care less if she came back or not.

Well, it's kind of a dumb idea now that I think about it but... Here it goes. The story starts off right at the point where Shang Tsung is in the process of removing her soul like in her ending, I'll write it like a little fanfic too.

Li Mei fell to her knees as she held her stomach which had been slashed by Shang Tsung's sword in a suprise attack. The bright light from the soul-nado in Shang Tsung's Palace, which Li Mei's people had constructed, forced her to close her eyes.

Shang Tsung smiled as he put away his sword, he then looked at Quan Chi whom was standing behind Li Mei, "Your plan worked out after all." Quan Chi nodded his head slightly, "Of course... We should hurry this up, I don't want any mistakes." Shang Tsung rubbed his chin as he looked at the badly wounded Li Mei, "You can go take care of that business between Mavado and Kano if you want to. I think I can manage this." Quan Chi turned to the side slowly, "Hurry along, the fight between those two will prove entertaining, I'm sure." With that, Quan Chi walked away his shoes making clicking sounds on the stone floor of the palace.

Shang Tsung watched Quan Chi leave before he turned his attention to Li Mei. He walked over to her and gently brushed a loose strand of her hair behind her left ear, "You have a decision to make... I'll allow you to live in exchange for your loyalty among other things, when I get rid of that cretin Quan Chi... What say you?" Li Mei opened her eyes slowly and then spat on Shang Tsung's robe, "How... How dare you... You enslave my people and... And you expect me to help you...!?"

Shang Tsung narrowed his eyes and slapped her across the face, "A poor decision that I'm afraid you won't live to regret. Too bad, it's always sad to see beauty with no brains yet again."

Green energy formed around Shang Tsung's hand as he began a soft incantation. Li Mei cried out as her very soul began to be ripped right from her body. An experience that was about as painful as having a major organ removed...

It was then over.

Li Mei's lifeless body crumpled to the floor as Shang Tsung held her very soul in the air, preparing not to put it into the body of an undead soldier but to take it for himself. After all, with the soul of such a strong fighter it'd be all the easier to take down Quan Chi in hand to hand combat. But before he could consume her soul, a sharp bladed object suddenly slammed into the middle of his back. Shang Tsung roared in pain and released his control over Li Mei's soul. As he fell to the ground, a second soul flew from the open wound on his back. The two souls flew into Li Mei's lifeless body at the same time, bringing her back to life though she was still unconscious.

Shang Tsung rolled about on the floor before he got the strength to face this unseen threat... He was surprised to see that the bladed object that had struck him was a hat with a bladed rim. He looked into the distance and sure enough, there stood Kung Lao along with his new instructor, Bo Rai Cho.

Kung Lao narrowed his eyes as he pointed at Shang Tsung, "You will *pay* for what you've done, sorcerer! Your sins end now...!" Kung Lao ran a full speed towards Shang Tsung...

Li Mei moaned softly as she opened her eyes, she blinked a few times as she found Kung Lao and Bo Rai Cho standing over her. She gasped slightly, "Shang Tsung..!?" Kung Lao smiled a bit and nodded his head, "Dead." Li Mei then rubbed her eyes for a moment as for some reason she recognized the two men, "Master...! Kung Lao!!" Kung Lao quirked an eyebrow, "How does she know who we are?!" Li Mei blinked her eyes with confusion, "It's me! Don't you recognize me?!" Kung Lao tilted his head slightly, "No... I'm sorry, I don't..."

Bo Rai Cho spoke softly, "Liu..."

Kung Lao looked at his master with a stunned looke, "Liu Kang?! But how!?" Bo Rai Cho frowned slightly as he examined Li Mei, "Didn't you see when you attacked him? This girl's soul went back into her body at the same time as a second one that came out of Shang Tsung. She has two souls, her original one and now Liu Kang's. Incredible, I've never seen anything like this in my entire life."

Li Mei looked around and then looked down at her body before fainting. Kung Lao gently picked her up from off the ground and cradled her in his arms, "What now?" Bo Rai Cho thought for a moment, "I don't know, let's leave, rest and regroup. We need to think of the best way to finish our task with this new complication."

simple... because theres only ONE winner (just like all the other MK's). The only other endings that are true is if they reflect on the past.. or something that the character would do if they won or lost. If Li Mei lost MKDA... she may not have went to Tsung and Quan Chi and been turned into a warrior. All the other endings are.. "what if so-in-so won... then what?" But not every character can win.

and to the Li Mei haters... don't forget that every female character's boobs jiggle, not just hers.

Li Mei sucks. She could pass over as a DOA, Tekken, VF, hell even a SC girl. She's always seemed generic to me ever since I first saw a screenshot of her. I hope she doesn't return. She's the Stryker of females.

Well I partially disagree with you. In MK4, Scorpion's ending happened because in MKDA, Quan Chi's and Scorpion's storylines continue from there. But Scorpion's MK4 ending never indicated about him defeating Shinnok. You can also say the same thing about Raiden's MK4 ending. In that ending, he becomes an elder god and in MKDA Raiden is an elder god but drops that status to help out the Earthrealm fighters. His MK4 ending didn't have him defeating Shinnok did it? No. And remember that Li Mei was involved in a tournament set up by the Deadly Alliance and her ending didn't show her defeating either Shang or Quan but it did say that she was the victor of the tournament set up by Shang and Quan. Therefore, it is possible for more than one ending in an MK game to occur in the storyline.

MK has always 'combined' many different endings in the past. They have never gone by 'just one ending'. Many aspects of different endings can be seen in MKDA, as explained above. Obviously, some endings will not happen, at least not in full. It is my opinion the MK team using certain elements from important characters endings to create the storyline for the next game. We'll have to wait until MK6 to find out which endings will be partly truthful.

It has already been stated that Reptile's ending may happen, but to me its quite obvious he isn't going to be the one who defeated the Deadly Alliance, if they were defeated at all that is.

I'm with ~Crow~ on that. I realize they do take bits of every character's ending and make it count. Doesn't mean the character won tho.

I liked Li Mei. And I'm not going to listen to character advice from anyone who has Stryker as their avatar. He has to be the single stupidest character ever to enter the MK universe.

Stryker: no fighting game had cops til after mk3. stryker paved the way for: that one cop in teken, one of the ladys in DOA, ohvers that i can's seem to think of.
kai: looked like a after thoget, much like most of the MK4 chars.
kai paved the way for: nothing.

so, the stupidst? maybe. the most unpopuer? sure! but did he help mold the face of fighting games? yes.
the 1th cop in a fighting game.
and that is, in my opinon, what makes him cool.
