Oh my,
I am shocked by two things.
Firstly, that was MK Gold. The "Hell Skull Trone room" was from MK Gold, and was a remake of a Umk3 stage. That was Mileena, doing her gay fatality at Lui Kang.
Secondly, So many people here are like litte children. Someone says something about a character being confirmed, and BAM, you believe it.
BTW, I know ed Boon, and Stryker is confimred. I SWEAR! It was in an interview! NO.. I Don't have a link.. but TRUST ME! ITS TRUE!!!
Lui Kang Will most likely not be a playable Character for Kombat. He will be in KONQUEST in some form or another. I am guessing the spirit of Kang will teach you something in conquest, but to say that he will be a zombie on the main grid is just insane. Its completely retarded to think that there will be two lui Kangs on the select screen.
Again show me an oficial interview with Boon where it says Kang will be a playable character with story, ending and two fatalities. Of course he's in the game, but in KONQUEST MODE.
Lets go through the excersise
What would be more logical.
Remember, to play the game, you have to only make anwsers that are LOGICAL.

To Kill off a character, finally, and advance the story in amazing way, proving to your fans youve still got it.
or..
Returning to the roots of Mortal Kombat 3 and 4, to completely ignore the fans and reverse the plot by making Ghosts and Zombies of old characters?
Point 1.
Midway has never done the Ghost or Zombie thing. Its dumb. If they wanted to bring back Lui Kang (which they don't except for Konquest) then why the hell would they bother with the zombie thing? They would just bring him back, fully intact like Scorpion, Mileena, Johnny Cage and a whole host of others.
Point 2.
Ghosts are not know for their ability to hurt people in Martial Arts. In Fact, Ghosts are known to have a very difficult time even affecting matter, like alone performing advanced and complex fights. THINK peopl dont just believe a rumor because you like a character, tis happens every game, and every game people start these stupid rumors and idiots carry them off like trophies to spread the good word.
Point 3.
There would NEVER be 2 lui Kangs on the select screen. Just like there wouldnt be 2 Raidens, or Reptiles or Kitanas. This being said, since the only way the zombie/gost form thin would work would be if it was an alternate costume. However that would not work because... see point 4
Point 4.
Zombies and Ghosts are extremely different. Zombies are slow, brain eating, idiots with no thoughts or purposes of their own. They are physical forms which can (very slowly) affect matter. Ghosts are NON-PHYSICAL. Now please tell me how one would reconcile these differences when its comes to story, fatalties, endings and fighting styles ? The anwser is, you wouldnt. It would be very difficult to explain would a ghost killed you, and even more difficult to explain how a ghost and zombie are one being, and seem to have both a quick non-physical and slow physical ability to do shaolin fist.
Point 5.
Zombies Often don't like doing anything but eating brains. By Definittion they have lost all will. They are also traditionally slaves. It would seem unlikely that a zombie (even Zombie lui Kang) would give a flying F*** about the dragon king.
Point 6.
The fans would be outraged. Zince boon is listening to fans, trying to make a serious, legit, dark game, I doubt very much that they would go back to their umk3 roots and pull a stupid stunt like this. Howver I do believe a 14 year old might believe it, or even start the rumor.
Point 7.
A poster here even admitted to simply taking the MK4 lui Kang and photoshopping it to look like a zombie. EVen with this fact out there people are still crying "The Messiah, THe Messahiah! This is his Gourd!!!!"
btw, I just got confimation Ronald Mcdonald will be appearing in the game. He aparantly has 8 spaces on the select screen.
Point 8.
Just becuase a character is in the game (ala Konquest) people make the mistake of thinking he will be in the KOMBAT mode as a character with a story, and ending and Fatalities. COme on people. The interview with Steve said rain would be in Konquest and there are already fools on this message board saying "Rain is officially confirmed" and adding them to their List of characters. Do you not think its possible thats what could have happened with Lui Kang ?
Point 9.
A good Plot point in Konquest would be visiting the shrine of Lui Kang in order to learn something from the deceased hero. A Bad plot point is bringing a dead hero back to fight as a Zombie. I know its a hard concept people, but try, would might see how professional video game makers might choose the former.
Point 10.
What Fatalities could a ghost really do ? What a waste of time.
Point 11.
If the above 10 logical points have not convinced you, then even Midway itself will not convince you. Continue to rock back and forth while thinking of lui kang.
