oooooooookkkk....I think i need to step into this descusion. This is lui kang. Look at sindel then look at him you can tell that he is green if you just look at the color of sindels skin to compare. The green is not from the orb because the orb goes away and he is still green. It is not kobra because this guy is shirtless and ben does not have a shirtless coustume. I am going to see if I can take the mk4 lui kang render and make him gree so people could get an idea. This in not kenshi because kenshi does not have a pony tail. This is not scorpion because scorpion does not have a pony tail.

Though if characters have 3 outfits total, than this could be nightwolfs third outfit.

Remember that souls in MK are green. This is probably Spirit Liu, not Zombie Liu especially given that his clothes are green tinted.

Scorpion is a hellspawn, a spectre from the Netherealm. Liu Kang is a pure spirit.

Sorry nizzim, I'm just tired of people coming into this thread and posting things like "that's Stryker", "that's Scorpion", "that's Kenshi" et cetera. This person is a luminescent green, and it's not being cause by the orb or anything in the background. The character is green.

Scorpion is "immortal"(not quite immortal though) so he could probably assume any form he wants, that and,as Bezou said, he's a hellspawn.

Liu Kang is D-E-A-D, DEAD. His new forms are zombie Liu(rotting flesh tends to be green) and spirit Liu(MKDA's soul were green, so why not in MKD?).

The green soul has been part of Mortal Kombat since MKII. Shang absorbed the opponent's soul in one of his Fatalities and it was green.
Nizzim - I serve much the same purpose myself. I don't speculate wildly. I have based all my speculation on the evidence afforded us by Midway, including the MKD website's source code before it was changed (which included the name Liu Kang).

That pretty much says it all. Liu has been confirmed as zombie/soul form. We see a greeb-tinted figure, we can highly assume that it's Liu and not any other character based on our knowledge of his appearance.
