Just as DoctorDrewX has stated, the upcoming PS2 and XBox games prices are dropping to $39.99. Xbox360 is already out and charging 10 dollars more for its new games so it would make since to drop the average price of new games atleast $10 now and the same will probably go for the PS3 which might be out at that time. Damn just when I thought people couldn't complain about anything more stupid than what I've heard already, People are now complain for having to pay LESS! The $40 price tag has nothing to do with the quality of the game. That might have been true 2 years ago, but not now. As a console ends it's life cycle, the trend of lower priced games will be ever more apparent, especially when a next gen console has already been released. If Midway released MKA at the $50 price tag then that's just bad marketing given the industry's current state of transition. It would shun away those consumers that are already surrounded by every other lower priced game. Cmon economics 101 people!

Sure Gamestop says it'll be released then but has Midway Confirmed this? Gamestop has been known to give a "suggested" release date in order to get more preorders. It happened with Tekken 5. Our gamestop was telling people it would be out March 15.....and then Namco says they are going to release it the 25 of Febuary and they do.

I really don't see why people are complaining. The price of the game, like UltimateRyu said, has NOTHING to do with the game itself. Have people forgotten next-gen consoles are the thing this year? And MK comes out later this year? The price will HAVE to drop, or else no one will bother buying it if it's one of the highest priced PS2 games on the market, especially after Deception.

I've baught the last 3 MK games from game stop online and guess what? I only paid 39.99 for each of them. You people forget you have to add tax and shipping so the price comes to about $50..Shut the fuck up about the price. you're just looking fo another reason to say this game is gonna suck.

39.99? Why? I'll tell you why. this means is that my theory looks more closer to right than wrong. The game is going to be just like MK:T was to mk3. Same engine, feel, combo system, etc. Everything. I think they've spent the past 2 years on air combat and all character models, combos and retool some of the glicthes. So basically we're paying for an upgrade but it will still be MK:D just with a hell of roster and better konquest, and a few additions.

My main point is, Some of you have stated you're holding off on playing MK:D because MK:A is coming out. I have a feeling those who continue to play will have their skills as sharp when the games comes around. Now this is bad news in a way for new fans of the game because they'll become very frustrated in getting their asses kicked but also excellent for us on the boards who rule the roast anyway. 45+ new characters/ways to challenge ourselves.

I can only hope the glitches are all gone, then I'll see what some of you can really do. Those who thrive on the glitches. Then again who am I kidding, they'll be new ones to discover.

October or november at the latest is a better time to capatilise on Christmas, and is more likely, as people tend to buy the important gifts for their children early. I work at Target (australia), and our biggest event of the year is the Pre-Christmas 'Toy Sale' (plus everything else child/youth orientated) which is in early October. But people dont buy things, they layby it for christmas (we get lines from one side the store to the other from the layby area)

Anywho, back on topic, the cheaper price is likely to do with Sony and MS saying "hey, next gen is here/right around the corner, and we have to be competitive, so we will lower royalties and enforce cheaper RRPs" not a bunch of game companies going "i know, lets make less money and make games cheaper!

The reason why I think it'll be coming out December 2006 (maybe it will be October)/Early 2007 is because Rockstar North's GTAIV won't be a launch title and it's expected to come out October 2007. There are still other entries in the GTA series being released this year though. The PS2 port of Liberty City Stories and the second PSP title both of which are coming from Rockstar Leeds. Who knows? The PlayStation 3 won't be released in the USA in the second quarter of this year though because I think that is it's Japanese release date.

I'm still happy with my PC and Xbox at the moment. Games will still made for them even with the release of the next-gen consoles. I just don't think it's worth shelling out money for next-gen consoles right away when there are only one or two launch titles that are any good.

And yes, once again the price drop is because of the next-gen consoles and their games costing more ($120 in Australia ).

Oh well. I'll probably be waiting for the PS3 before I get MKA though. I ended up waiting for the GCN version of MKD, so it wont be too bad. Maybe I could pick up MKSM as well, then.
