I think that they should save the mainstream music for extreme sports games like SSX, THPS and so on. MK doesn't deserve that sort of crap, they should an orchestra and let them go crazy.

Mk doesnt need any bands wtf this is a video game Adema sucks all the nu metal is trash ill give you a description of how to be in a nu metal band first of all the lead singer needs black or blond spike hair 2nd you need a short sleeve shirt with buttons and front pockets. 3rd you have to have a chunky bass player that nods his head alot and has a goate the drummer has to have a sweatshirt on he has to be chunky to but not as fat as the bass player make a note of that and the leader singer microphone has to have a no pole at all.There you have it now make a video and mail it to mtv they will put you on in a second. mtv=shit PS. if paparoach can get a record deal anybody can.

I'm a little slow.. as I'm not on this board that much, but this was actually an interesting thread. I think they should stick with more abstract music, maybe some orchestration mixed with a little techno or vice versa, something with an ethnic feel but nothing mainstream and something without lyrics. The game, in a way has a timeless feel to it, even with the modern aspects of the earthrealm warriors so it doesn't need something that would clash with that. I know that there hadn't been a MK game for some time.. still, that song by Adema did nothing to launch the hype for that game for me. In fact, I think the song was really corny. x.x; Its video was even worse and the game could have very well done without either.

If they were to have a song, I'd like to hear a relatively unknown band such as Project 86. Their song "Stein's Theme" would fit perfectly, or maybe even "Oblivion" or "Last Meal".

NO RAP MUSIC AT ALL.

I like rap music, but none of this mainstream dog turd you guys are on about. All of the rappers mentioned in this thread have little to no talent at all. (Eminem being the exception, he has a larger amount of talent than the rest).

IF, and I stress IF, you guys want to hear rap music in MK:D then turn off the music and crank up your stereo.

But, I think orchestral music with a touch of metal would go perfectly.

Finally, someone has some actual suggestions and not just "OH GOD NO RAP" statements. Personally, I think that for the theme, they should go with orchestral themes. Something that rises, with a low dark line and perhaps monks singing in the background.

If the theme were to be something more mainstream like the route they took with MK:DA. Then I'd say that you can go in one of two directions:

Rock: I'd go with something hard like "Wait and Bleed" by Slipknot, or maybe something in the middle like "From the Inside" by Shinedown.

Rap: Unlike most people on this board, I think rap could be done if it was done the right way. That means getting RZA involved. He did the entire soundtrack for Kill Bill, and I personally think that he did an AMAZING job. Tell me you didn't like the themesong for Kill Bill. I personally thought it was awesome. I'm not quite so sure about actual rapping, but rap beats can work if they're done by someone that appreciates the roots of the MK series (ie Wu Tang Clan). If they had to use voices though, I could maybe see the Rebel INS providing something raw and solid.

My overall picks would be to go with something orchestral, operatic or chant singing in the background. But if I had to pick a mainstream stong I'd definitely go with either Shinedown for an awesome song, or RZA for awesome asian beats.

While somewhat unrelated, I think that Forden needs to reconsider the music for MK. I thought that the music in MK:DA was a bit too loud and intrusive. Loud drumbeats and techno or whatever just seemed to distract from the fight. I wish they'd go for something with more ambiance, something that remained in the background. Low, dark and foreboding, not loud and clumsy.

Also, I wish there was a little more variation, everything seemed to sound too similar and out of context with the backgrounds themselves. Instead of having something that involved water splashing in the background, the rowers making some "row!" chant etc, and music that fit the arena as a whole, it was just more drumbeats etc.

I personally hope they add some variety and make you feel more connected to the arenas. Just my opinion.

Listening to the music in the stages so far, I think we have little to worry about. The music is perfectly suited to the stage - best example being the netherbelly arena. Dark and gloomy.

As far as a themesong goes, I wouldn't want rap (not because I dislike it, which I do), it just wouldn't fit the game's atmosphere. However, i feel the same way about metal. That's more Guilty Gear's arena of expertise.

"Immortal" wasn't godawful, but I'd rather something different this time. Something...industrial. Like KMFDM, or Pig...

I think that the song Midway chose for Psi-Ops is amazing, maybe Cold could make something for MK:D too.

Adema's "immortal" song wasn't that great at all...like i said earlier, they should stick with metal.I could see the techno thing working as well IF done right.

He man... what type of music u listen to? how can you say that about adema???????????????? they have great music.. and mk has a dark look to it and rock music suits mk quite well... maybe they can get korn or disturbed for mkd
