They awarded MKD but do they know all the blank things about the story of MKD, i dont think they played MKD enough or at all to find out all problems that a usuall gamer finds.
First time u play a new game u say: whoooa coool,then u learn the system of the game and u find many errors, i know there is not a such thing as :PERFECT but dont give awards to unfinished games.
I dont think that MKD should get any award ,exept for the stupid things in it.

I'm still waiting for the news thread on the IGN best fighting game award, I'm sure everyone would like to know who won since there was such a big deal made out of voting for that one.

Someone with a Tekken name isn't the best one to critize the story of MK: Deception

Yes i am , i play MK more than Tekken but i like Eddy Gordo because it has style and i like CAPOEIRA..............and read before u post some stupid words ,name does not tell that LOOOOOOOOOL

Let me just say that mkd deserves what it got, perhaps not for its error-strewn engine but for what it opened up for the future of the franchise. Conquest was not done to even half of its potential. But I guess people learn, and midway finally realised that action adventure a-la samurai warriors with perhaps a hint of baldur's gate is the way to go for MK, not rpg. But mk is a fighting game, and while it has its share of errors, as well as a dial-a-combo system, it does achive what it set out to do in being a fun game. You obviously have to elarn the game to play the game, since button mashing is not going to work., Also, the fact that people keep harping on about hit-detection and so on alerts us to the fact that mk could be even greater if these failures are eradicated, which falls into midway's scope, and the onus is on them. I expect mk7 to improve on everything we have seen so far, and with tag combat, I believe our minds are going to get blown away, if boon and co dont rest on their laurels, that is...

Also, Mk has a superb story. Perhaps witha tad too much resurrection, but the story so far over seven games has been fantastic. There is so much more to learn about sub-zero and co than just their moves and fatalities. Mk may have a habit of not revealing endings, but that just keeps speculation alive. Nothing wrong there especially when the true ending is revealed in the next installment.

Also, I visited several sites dedicated to other fightin games, esp tekken and doau. I noticed that while many people with coloured vision exalted doa and tekken and blasted mk for fighting engine reasons, and the famous "mk2 was the best and mk will never be the same again, blah blah etc etc", when it came down to them posting on whether they thought doau was going to win fighter of the year, even doau fans found it hard to back doa. Says a lot about mk, the competition.

Well lets hope that MK7 will be better if not I SWEAR i will sell my MKDA and MKD and wont buy any MK!!!

Whoever gives this game any awards,automatically loses any credibility they've had before.

Having so many glitches is already ridiculous,but also having 15+ infinite combos is almost unexcusable.

When will these magazines,Websites,etc. stop following the hype it receives and actually anyalize the game they are giving awards to?

I knos it has many.....many......and many flaws, but its a great game. Oh well, my opinion.

PSM's "Buy it or Die", SpikeTV, DICE Summit, GamePro, that's 4. Then, we've got GameSpot, IGN, and 1UP.COM's awards from E3. So, at least seven, but I may be missing some.

I have to give some leeway to game magazines and various other award giving organizations. Figure this, these guys have to play more games than any of us would want to in a very limited amount of time. With RPGs, action games, sports games, and others it's pretty easy to tell the good from the bad right from the start. Any glitches and problems in the games will show up rather quickly. You can usually tell if an RPG is good or not by playing it for an hour. The battle engine is simple and as long as it works well all that's left to review is whether it's worth investing the 30+ hours in the game. Fighting games are different. In order to learn how good or bad a fighter is, significant time needs to be invested and not just playing the computer but other people as well. The people giving out the awards have no idea what high level play is like and how glitchy and broken the game is. It's unfortunate but fighting games will never be able to be reviewed properly if the people doing the reviewing are swamped with other games at the same time.
