MK Dilemma

As a Game Cube owner & a chronic MK fan, Ive pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I need to get a new system to play MK6. The question is do I get a Playstation or an Xbox?! (and, NO Im not getting both). So I thought Id ask for your opinions on which system would be better to get taking into consideration available games, graphics, load times, cost of system + games etc. Edit: I just realised this may start a consol war which is not my intention, I just want to know which system is better based on games, graphics etc, not peoples personal opinion about micro$oft etc. Thanks

It depends what you want from a machine, I have a PS2 and a GC, I play the PS2 more as the controller is probably the best ever on any system and it the back catalogue of the PS2's games is huge. If you want the Xbox then you get probably the best graphic enhancing console out there.
Its hard to say, I would read up on them both and do some researching on them, even when you have decided its not long now until there big daddy version's are released (PS3 and Xbox2)
Read up on them both and make your own decision, cos at the end of the day everyone can say which one is best BUT your the one with the cash buying it.
Best of Luck!

Yup, I've got the same problem over here...
I think I'm gonna go with the PS2, 'cause it
can also play my old PSX games.
But, it seems XBOX seems to come alive when
you start playing online. It seems to have
more cool online features then PS2.
Also, I'd like to know on wich of the 2 consoles
it's easiest to "backup" your games, and play your
backuped games.
I'll just have to wait and see I guess.
I mean, untill MK:D is released here in europe,
It'll be valentine 2005... and prices for both
consoles will have dropped alot (I think/hope).
I'm very disappointed that there's not going to
be a gamecube version though

I own all systems, but I have MK: DA on X-Box.
To pick a system just find out which system has the most games you like.
Example; Devil May Cry, Tekken, Gran Turismo 3 is om PS2
Halo, tao fang(which i hate),Dead or Alive 3 which is on X-box
Just pick the one your gonna have fun with!
one thing thought, To play DVD's on X-box you need to buy something kind deal(i forgot what it's call), on playstation 2 you don't need anything.

Here's the deal.
XBox is the superior hardware.
PS2 has the superior game library.
I haven't read anything yet that confirms online play for the Xbox. Midaway may pull an EA Sports and only support PS2. I cannot imagine why they would but I have yet to see a confirmation for online play except for PS2.
Anyway, the online issue will certainly be cleared up way before you ever need to decide on a console. You just have to decide whether you prefer performance or game selection.
