I'm not so sure, they killed him off in DA because his popularity was waning. I think Kung Lao has gained some momentum since the death of Lui Kang, I wouldn't be suprised if Lao replaces Kang. But if he is in, It'll probably be in human form.

Liu Kang kicks ass. He has to be in this game. That's a given. The zombie look is so stupid imo. It's a great story, I just hate seeing Liu Kang looking like that, which is why I always use his alt. costume.

Dude, he has go reason to be a zomie. He was killed in DA and cane back as a zombie because they needed to fix his death. He's human again so he won't be a zombie. But they need to completely change his appearance. His fuckin pants are annoying me after 16 years.

I prefer zombie Liu and the promise that he might actually die for good, but yeah... Given the context of the game you'd have to think he'll either inexplicably show up alive and well thanks to the license afforded by wacky world mergers -- or this'll be the abridged post-MKA scenario.

With the MK roster at 10-11, that wouldn’t look good for one of the main heroes/representatives of Mortal Kombat to be a brain eating zombie, assuming he makes it.
With the most popular coming back, overriding the story importance, it seems like a good chance for this to be a what if.

Even with a lot of kids too young to have seen the MK movies, the majority surely know of Robin Shou, if not the hero from the majority of games.

I wasn't happy to see him in Deception.

It's one thing to say people never really die in MK because of fatality moves during gameplay... but it's another thing to bring some one back when he literally died right infront of your eyes in an opening movie and you see Shang Tsung stealing his soul.

Same goes for Kahn? Not really... all we saw was his bloody mask fall on the floor. That doesn't mean he DIED. Maybe he just got the shit kicked out of him and fell unconcious and was considered defeated. But I guess that's debatable... if you're stubborn.

liu kang is definately somewhere on the top of the iconic list of MK characters. And yes Scorpion and Sub Zero are the favourites i know because the majority loves anything ninja style (personally i hate them).

And while you guys are claiming that Liu Kang is a rip off of Bruce Lee don't forget where MK's true roots came from. A movie called blood sport - and most characters in the game are based off something else in other media.

If this game is going to be canon then i guess he will be a zombie - otherwise i think we can expect to see the normal versions of the characters. And i personally will eat my hat if he doesn't make an appearence, i am so sure he will make an appearence

I think Liu kang is one of the best characters in Mortal Kombat and is my #1 character in the game, i can't understand why he isn't liked at all (and don't say because he is a copy of bruce lee because like i said the whole origional concept of the game is a copy)

I concur. Liu Kang should definitely return back to human form if he's in the game. I also agree that he should definitely be in the game. He's the MK Champion afterall and is definitely one of the bigger icons of the series.

Liu Kang sucks bad. Original Hero? Yes, but he has no place anymore. He should become a more out of gameplay character....like the Elder Gods. Now Kung Lao...I'd love to see him as the next MK champion. It's time to pass on the torch Liu.
