I feel the exact same way with Reptile and Ermac, Ermac right now is no doubt more popular, iconic given his recent roles...Reptile on the other hand...ummm not so much.

As far as Kung and Liu are concerned, I'm not really a huge fan of "either" personally so I guess it wouldn't matter but if they bring Kang back he should be normal looking. Kung always looks pretty cool usually

for me Liu Kang is1000 better than Kung Lao story- and charcter-wise.
everyone have his opinion but if e really should set mk's storyline free from Liu Kang and search a new champion,i don't see Kung Lao as successor of him.

Anyways regarding the whole Kang issue what's the point of bringing him back if he's just going to be a zombi? It's the human Kang that was iconic so there's really no reason for Midway to bring him back as a zombi.
But i'd say Boon is corrupt enough to do either. You never know...

He didn't look "bad" just different and more rebelish, more nobel. I would have preferred his hat but I think that's a good cue at "the ancient Kung Lao" look personally.

He would have been a LITTLE better if they dumped his chicken vocals and made him sound like a zombi. And yes he should have used the chains. But that would screw everything up for his alt costume.

Yeah, Kang always has the high pitch voice ha, ha. Then again, just about every fighter has a "high pitched guy" usually one of the asian dudes lol

The new Liu is cool.....but Zombie Liu Kang was the best thing that could had ever happened to him (after being killed of course).

I like Liu, but the Zombie thing finally gave him the twist he truly needed. As Ed said in one interview, many like that form, and if he is to be back in a future MK, I hope he gets it back and let the story flow from that angle to reach a new interesting path.

I couldn't disaggree with the OP more. I never liked Liu Kang at all until his Zombie look. It should REALLY be his alternate. If not, I'll just go back to not liking Liu.
